The latest isn’t always the best. The Super Stallion GT2RS, representing Kaleido's pragmatic performance philosophy, brings back the old-style guide system, straight grip, and foregrip. This powerful rod, designed for retrieving large lures, particularly excels with soft swim baits and big baits over 1oz, offering superior casting distance and enhanced sensitivity for monster game fishing. As a big-taper, heavyweight versatile rod, the Super Stallion showcases incredible capabilities for long-distance casting and transmitting vibrations, making it indispensable for serious anglers.

Features:

■ Blanks
The rod's blanks are crafted using high-strength, high-modulus "Torayca® T1100G" carbon as the main material, with ultra-high-modulus 40-ton carbon used in specific areas. The tip section is reinforced with a 45° Super Quattro Cross wrap, while the butt section is reinforced with a 30° wrap. This advanced construction provides total reinforcement, resulting in a 15% increase in flexibility and strength without adding any significant weight compared to the previous model.

■ Guide System
The guide system intentionally uses old-style large-diameter titanium-framed SiC rings with double-foot LN guides, the same as the first-generation Kaleido Super Stallion. The rod, measuring 7 feet 1 inch, has only nine guides, which is notably fewer than most modern rods of similar length. This choice was made to accommodate thicker lines commonly used with large lures and to improve the smoothness of line release. The larger guide diameter and fewer guides also increase the freedom of the line, making vibrations from the lure more noticeable and enhancing performance with swim baits and big baits that require slack line techniques.

■ Grip Design
The grip is equipped with AAA champagne cork, the same as the RS Limited series, but it follows the standard straight grip design of the GT series. In addition, the GT2RS is the only rod in the RS and GT lineup to feature a foregrip. The cork material enhances vibration transmission, similar to the resonance effect in an acoustic guitar. Combined with the large surface area of the straight grip and the added foregrip, this design dramatically boosts sensitivity. The straight grip also enhances the rod’s rigidity, providing the perfect balance for casting, detecting bites, and setting hooks when using large lures and swim baits.

After extensive testing, the optimal combination of modern materials and old-style parts, along with what may seem like outdated design elements, led to the creation of the Super Stallion GT2RS. This rod proves that "the latest" is not always synonymous with "the best," but rather, it’s the result of a pursuit of pure excellence.

The rod's blanks use a hybrid and high-taper design, incorporating Torayca® "T1100G" carbon fiber (92%) enhanced by Nanoalloy® technology with 33-ton carbon and 40-ton high-modulus carbon. This combination provides not only strength and power but also a lightweight, sharp, and highly sensitive structure, offering exceptional operability.

In addition, the entire rod is reinforced with Super Quattro Cross (4-axis sheets). For sections from the tip to just below the main guide, the ±45° construction method is used to effectively suppress twisting without adding unnecessary weight. The butt section is wrapped using the ±30° method, which has a higher density of diagonal reinforcement for even greater power output. This hybrid full-wrapping design ensures balanced strength and performance across the entire rod.

Guide System:

The rod is equipped with an all double-foot guide system, where the guide foot and thread surface areas are doubled. This enhances reinforcement against bending and twisting, increasing the rod's toughness and rigidity.

Rather than using the latest small-diameter titanium-framed Torzite ring guides, the rod intentionally features large-diameter LN guides (titanium frame and SiC ring) in minimal numbers for its blank length. This setup allows the line to move more freely between the guides and within the guide rings, amplifying vibrations for heightened sensitivity.

Foregrip:

The rod features a cork material foregrip, not only enhancing rigidity between the butt and grip but also improving vibration transmission.

Reel Seat Design:

The Fuji ECS reel seat is designed for a slim, lightweight, and easy grip, prioritizing sensitivity through a blank-touch structure. The reel seat's black mica color gives it a premium feel as a special-edition model.

Note on Reel Seat Hood Color Change
The B color (black finish) has been discontinued and will be gradually replaced with the IC color (I.P. shiny gray finish). There is no functional difference between the colors.

Signature:

The GT2RS inherits elements from the RS Limited series. It features Katsutaka Imae's signature, marking it as a special-edition rod tailored to the settings he uses in tournaments.

Grip Design:

The rod incorporates a straight double-handle grip made from AAA champagne cork. This high-density cork material not only enhances vibration transmission but also provides a strong, rigid feel during casting and hooking with large lures. The grip end is adorned with a custom kaleidoscope-themed end plate (a signature design element of Kaleido rods).

Original Rod Cover:

The Super Stallion GT2RS includes a slender, custom rod cover that protects the blank. The cover can be used while the reel is attached and with lures or rigs set up, making it convenient for transportation in vehicles or boats, or when moving between fishing spots.
