The Cobra has long been synonymous with super-technical, high-precision casting and true all-around performance—famed for its overwhelming accuracy and the pleasure of pin-point casting. The previous Cobra DG used dense, thick-walled graphite to achieve a supple, sticky flex and powerful swing torque, pursuing castability that feels truly addictive. Now, to deliver even more stable, uncompromising performance at the highest levels of tournament fishing, the Cobra has evolved boldly into the Cobra RS Limited.

In top-level tournaments, anglers make hundreds or even thousands of casts per day. The Cobra RS Limited focuses on comfort and performance under these extreme, high-repetition conditions. To simultaneously achieve ultimate practical lightness, strength, elasticity, sharpness, and heightened sensitivity, it incorporates the most advanced materials and latest engineering without compromise—creating the pinnacle of tournament gear.

The main blank is a hybrid construction of TORAYCA® T1100G 33-ton carbon (approx. 70%) combined with Cobra’s unique 24-ton carbon (approx. 30%). T1100G contributes lightness, sensitivity, crisp response, and strength, while the 24-ton material adds characteristic elasticity and load-bearing feel. The rod is equipped throughout with the latest titanium-frame Torzite double-foot guides (non-micro). Despite their toughness, these guides are exceptionally light and thin, significantly enhancing blank strength and overall crispness.

The Torzite rings—whose inner diameter rivals that of older, large-frame guides—greatly increase line freedom, contributing directly to improved sensitivity for detecting lure action and subtle bites, and also enhancing castability when using thicker lines of 12 lb and above, which are frequently used for moving-bait applications.

The grip uses lightweight, highly sensitive AAA champagne cork in a split-grip design to further amplify sensitivity and maintain extreme weight reduction. Even when paired with the lightest high-performance reels, the RS Limited maintains perfect weight balance without any sense of tip-heaviness or discomfort—ensuring effortless, enjoyable casting all day long.

Ideal for moving-bait presentations that require consistent loading, smooth follow-through, and long-duration accuracy, such as bladed jigs, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, pencil baits, and mid-size crawler baits, as well as no-sinker shad swimbaits and light Texas-rig swimming. Especially in single-handed casting, the Cobra RS Limited delivers pinpoint accuracy and light, crisp castability that minimize physical and mental fatigue—allowing anglers to perform at their absolute best.

■ Blank

A hybrid blend of 33-ton carbon reinforced with TORAYCA® T1100G using Nanoalloy® technology (approx. 70%) and 24-ton mid-modulus carbon (approx. 30%) combines lightness, sensitivity, sharpness, strength, and elastic loading into one unified performance profile.
To maximize full-blank flex and power generation, the rod intentionally excludes 4-axis reinforcement even in the butt section, and instead uses a thick-walled, slim low-taper design throughout.

■ Guide System

All guides are titanium-frame Torzite double-foot, offering both lightness and toughness.

Instead of trendy micro or semi-micro guides, the Cobra RS uses deliberately larger inner diameters to increase line flow and freedom—enhancing castability and amplifying sensitivity to lure action and bite signals.

Compared to single-foot designs, the increased wrapping required for double-foot guides creates a firmer, denser blank feel. Additionally, positioning the butt guide slightly farther forward than standard prevents interference with blank flex and generates powerful swing torque.

■ Foregrip

The foregrip is completely eliminated for further weight reduction. A minimal, sharp-designed winding check plus a lightweight 4-axis carbon sleeve nut contribute greatly to reduced weight and increased sensitivity.

■ Reel Seat Design

Equipped with the slim, lightweight Fuji ECS reel seat, prioritizing gripping comfort and above all, sensitivity through direct blank contact.
The RS Limited series features a Black Mica color finish, adding the refined aesthetic expected of a flagship-class model.

■ Signature

RS models include a special signature that signifies the custom tournament-level tuning used by Katsutaka Imae.
From 2021 onward, the signature placement has been changed from the reel seat to the logo area on the butt section.

■ Grip Design

A split-grip layout prioritizes operability and weight reduction.
The center grip—where the hand most often contacts the rod—uses high-density, air-filled AAA champagne cork, dramatically improving lightness and sensitivity transmission.
The grip end is fitted with an original end plate featuring a kaleidoscope (Kaleido) motif.
