This curve is one of the characteristic postures of aquatic insects that are just about to emerge, and also represents shrimp and caddis larvae. The thin and light 2487 and the sturdy yet delicate 2457 both stand out in the naturalness of the fly. Both are also suitable for large dry flies with extended bodies. TMC has eliminated the offset of the 2487/2457. This was mainly to address the problem of the fly tilting in the water when used with emergers or soft hackles, but it also has the advantage of making it easier to tie.
