AKAME model

The Akame model of the HUGE Custom Big Game series, refined for Akame — one of Japan's three great phantom fish — a species that captivates anglers with a fight even bigger and more violent than a monster-class bass.

The Akame you're after here is record-class, over a meter long. From a blank whose butt power comes standard-equipped to match that overwhelming, violent power, to handling that lets you work ultra-heavyweight lures — giant baits and big baits — exactly as you intend, right down to a grip built for improved castability, this is a series finished without a single detail overlooked, purpose-built for Akame.

■ White Tip

A white tip for improved visibility. It makes the tip's movement easy to see even at night or in low light, and its visual presence also helps prevent damage from leaving the rod behind or accidentally snagging it on something.

■ Center-Cut Two-Piece

While multi-piece construction has proven its strength across a range of big game applications, this is a center-cut two-piece design that balances portability against the hassle of assembly.

■ PEEK Hood Cap

Uses PEEK (polyether ether ketone), a resin with top-class performance in strength, heat resistance, wear resistance, light weight, and machining precision, used across fields ranging from aerospace to medical devices. While weighing roughly half as much as aluminum, its high strength and metallic feel contribute to a secure reel mount and the high sensitivity that comes from a hard, direct touch. It's also fitted with polyolefin, which resists slipping and offers excellent flexibility and resilience.

■ Guide Setting

A titanium frame with SiC rings. Double wrapping protects the blank from damage caused by the guide feet.
