DAIWA Battle Game Hyper Maeuchi Game XH-450
概述
A simple rig plus natural bait to target a wide range of species.
Introducing the new “Hyper Maeuchi Game” method.**
Based on the traditional mae-uchi (front-drop) fishing style, this innovative method expands the approach by adapting the bait and fishing environment to target a wider variety of large species. Using only a simple rig—line, hook, and sinker—you probe from your feet out toward offshore structure with a free-fall presentation, effectively targeting rockfish, striped beakfish, black porgy, and other species.
With a delicate tip that allows fish to take the bait without resistance and a powerful butt section for controlling large fish, the rod achieves a unique balance unmatched by lure rods or traditional rock-fishing rods. This enables confident handling of diverse species and unexpected big fish.
Features of HMG
① Delicate Tip × Powerful Butt Section
The blank is designed with a high-taper profile from butt to tip, creating a flexible, sensitive tip combined with a strong butt—not found in typical lure rods or rock rods. This new action allows anglers to hook cautious species like striped beakfish that are known for subtle bites, while still delivering torque and power to land large fish using relatively light rigs.
② Long Length (H-450, XH-450)
The long length allows the tip to reach the water surface even when fishing from high rocks, helps manage slack line in strong winds, and reduces hook-offs by providing a large bend during fights when using thin leaders. Excellent casting ability allows for smooth casting of rigs with 1.5–2 m leaders without drawing the knot into the guides, minimizing loss of distance.
③ IM Guides (#1–#2 fixed)
The slanted frame and oval ring design reduce line tangles and minimize the surface contact area, improving line release. The compact guide size keeps the line close to the blank, maximizing blank performance. These refined main guides—commonly used in advanced rock-fishing float rods—are positioned to fully utilize the rod’s rebound power and achieve maximum distance with 10 g-class rigs.
④ Rod Balance Optimized for Casting Sinkers
A new balance that pairs a delicate tip with a stiffer #2 section ensures proper loading when casting sinkers, allowing for accurate and comfortable casting performance.
DAIWA Technologies
MEGA TOP

A carbon solid tip in which carbon fibers and resin are evenly dispersed, allowing it to bend uniformly in any direction. Compared to standard carbon solid tips, strength is significantly improved. This enables exceptionally slim, flexible, and high-taper tips with outstanding tactile and visual bite sensitivity.
AIR SENSOR SEAT

The carbon-fiber-reinforced AIR SENSOR SEAT delivers reduced weight, increased strength, and enhanced sensitivity. Each version is designed specifically for its intended rod application, providing operability beyond what generic reel seats offer.
V-JOINT

A bias-structured carbon sheet is applied to the joint section, producing a distortion-free curve similar to a one-piece rod. Compared with rods without V-JOINT, it significantly improves power, stiffness, and recovery speed, resulting in an ideal action.
HVF Carbon

In pursuit of optimal rod performance, Daiwa focused not only on high-modulus carbon fibers but also on reducing excess resin—the “fat”—that binds the fibers. HVF Carbon features a higher carbon fiber density with reduced resin content, creating a stronger, more muscular material ideal for rods that require power, resilience, and durability.
Product Details
■ IM Guides + TM Guides

Uses IM guides commonly found on rock-fishing rods.
The oval-shaped tip guides enhance casting distance and line release when feeding line.
Increased guide count and close spacing improve sensitivity by bringing the line closer to the blank.
The tangle-resistant oval design offers stress-free performance with nylon, fluorocarbon, or PE lines.
■ Screw-lock Reel Seat

Because various natural baits such as shellfish and shrimp are frequently handled, hands often remain slippery.
The EVA grip provides secure handling even when hooked into large fish like striped beakfish, ensuring stable and confident fighting performance.
■ High-Visibility White Tip

A white-colored tip enhances visibility.
The finely tuned, sensitive tip—unlike that of a lure rod—clearly transmits subtle bites, while the moderately stiff #2 section provides sharp, decisive hooksets.
Item Lineup
MH-300
A short-length model ideal for run-and-gun fishing on pressured rocky shores, breakwaters, and close-range structure fishing.
The ultra-sensitive 0.8 mm glass solid tip (exclusive to MH-300) clearly transmits even subtle bites.
Equipped with a powerful butt section capable of stopping fish that attempt to dive into structure, making it suitable for fighting large species such as parrotfish.
H-450
Ideal for targeting 40 cm-class striped beakfish, groupers, and other strong fish using relatively light rigs.
The 1.1 mm tip provides a crisp feel and is optimized for efficiently searching offshore spots with sinkers around 20 g.
XH-450
Suitable not only for striped and spotted beakfish but also for challenging smaller longtooth grouper (kue) and large grouper species.
Perfect for situations requiring thicker leaders, heavier sinkers, or fishing strong-current locations.
The 1.3 mm tip offers both excellent bite acceptance and superior control of heavier sinkers, while delivering the penetration power needed to hook large fish with tough jaws.
