A premium synthetic oil specially developed for fishing reel bearings, released by Hedgehog Studio. ALCHEMY OIL is engineered to meet the highest performance demands of precision bearings, delivering exceptional smoothness, durability, and control.
Featuring ultra-low friction combined with a unique viscosity, this oil maintains stability even under extremely high rotational speeds without evaporating. It forms an ultra-thin, long-lasting oil film that continuously protects bearings, ensuring consistently light and smooth rotation over extended periods.
Chemically stable, the oil performs reliably even in extremely cold conditions without thickening. Its strong film strength also provides excellent resistance against saltwater, offering superior anti-corrosion performance compared to other low-viscosity oils in the same class.
The bottle is equipped with an ultra-fine needle nozzle, allowing precise control of oil application, while the secure cap prevents leakage during storage and transport.
ALCHEMY OIL is available in two viscosity types, which can also be mixed to achieve a customized feel:
Medium Light (medium viscosity):
A versatile, all-round oil suitable for both spinning and baitcasting reel bearings. Designed to balance silky smooth operation with long-lasting durability.
How to Apply:
Apply 1–2 small drops only—this is sufficient for proper lubrication. The oil will naturally penetrate into the bearing.
Open Bearings:
Apply directly to the exposed internal parts.
Shielded Bearings:
Apply into the gap between the inner shaft and the shield. After application, rotate the bearing to evenly distribute the oil.
Basic Reel Maintenance (Spinning Reels):
Line Roller Bearing:
Apply oil from both ends or through the lubrication port (if available).
Spool Bearing:
Remove the spool and apply oil from the inside.
Spool Shaft Bearing:
Apply directly after removing the spool.
Handle Knob Bearing:
Apply through the gap or after removing the cap.
Also suitable for components such as baitcasting reel level wind systems (worm gears) after cleaning old grease and debris.
Note: Not recommended for reels equipped with Daiwa Magsealed or Shimano CoreProtect systems.
