HUGE Custom Big Game Series — GT Models

The GT (Giant Trevally) is one of the ultimate targets in big game lure fishing, captivating anglers worldwide with its explosive power and brutal fighting ability.

The HUGE Custom Big Game GT models were developed specifically to battle powerful GT, combining the essential elements of casting performance, lure control, and lifting power into a highly refined blank design.

The rods feature a specialized guide setting engineered to reduce line friction during casting, allowing line to flow smoothly and maximizing long-distance casting performance. Although the rods are not extremely lightweight on paper, their exceptional overall balance creates a surprisingly light feel in hand, reducing fatigue during extended casting sessions and improving lure operation comfort.

A patented Joint Grip Mechanism (PAT.P) makes it possible to break down the grip section—something traditionally difficult on heavy-duty GT rods—allowing the rod to fit inside a suitcase for travel convenience. Despite the multi-piece construction, the rods maintain a smooth, natural bend curve and have proven their strength against the intense fighting power of GT during real-world testing.

JOINT GRIP MECHANISM (PAT.P)

To achieve true travel-friendly portability, the grip section incorporates a detachable joint mechanism while maintaining the strength required for serious GT battles.

The locking nut is designed not to protrude beyond the grip diameter, preventing accidental loosening during fights and allowing the angler to stay fully focused on the battle.

The grip shaft inserts into the joint grip section and locks securely into place through a precision engagement structure. An internal elastic component eliminates play and prevents loosening of the locking nut during use.

Please note: the elastic internal part is not glued in place, so care should be taken not to lose it when disassembling the grip.

GUIDE SETTING

The guide layout is optimized to minimize friction from the line during casting, delivering a smooth and stress-free casting feel while contributing to exceptional casting distance.

Features include:

• Stainless steel guide frames
• SiC guide rings
• Double wrapping to protect the blank from guide foot damage

The guide inner diameter (approximately Φ10 mm) is large enough to pass a Studio Ocean Mark Ocean Snap #6, allowing anglers to prepare leader systems before arriving on location and reducing stress during unstable offshore conditions.

Compatibility may vary depending on snap manufacturer specifications.

FOREGRIP & DOUBLE LOCK NUT

The reel seat uses a secure down-lock design combined with a double lock nut system to prevent loosening during heavy fights.

Foregrip lengths are optimized for fighting with a gimbal setup and provide secure leverage during prolonged battles with large GT.

A long-distance GT model designed for PE6–8 line classes, offering outstanding casting range that allows anglers to target fish while applying minimal pressure to wary Giant Trevally.

The 8’6” long-length blank significantly improves casting distance and gives anglers a major advantage when covering expansive offshore areas or reaching fish beyond normal casting range.

Its extended blank design also loads lure weight efficiently, reducing physical strain on the angler and helping minimize fatigue during repeated casting sessions.

Recommended for anglers who prefer long rods for launching pencil baits and diving pencils farther than ever before while maintaining the power needed for serious GT battles.
