Gekka Bijin is a spinning reel designed exclusively for light saltwater fishing, combining light weight and high rigidity. In all situations of light saltwater fishing where lightweight lures are used, the high level of operability provided by AIRDRIVE DESIGN is a great advantage.
In particular, the lightweight and low-inertia AIRDRIVE ROTOR, a key technology of AIRDRIVE DESIGN, has dramatically improved winding sensitivity, making it possible to reliably detect even the most delicate bites that could not be felt before.
The AIRDRIVE ROTOR, which has no screws and a unique shape that looks as if it was cut out of a sphere, and the AIRDRIVE BAIL, which has an optimal tilt setting, significantly reduce line trouble. The trouble-free performance supports stress-free fishing when using light lines.

AIRDRIVE SPOOL
A thin-walled design that eliminates unnecessary material and achieves the ultimate in weight reduction. The thin-walled design of the spool skirt as well as the hollowing out of the inside of the spool have been thoroughly lightened. The lighter spool has improved operability, such as lighter winding and casting. In addition, the drag sound mechanism with less operating resistance improves response when the drag is activated.

MONOCOQUE BODY
Tough and durable technology, monocoque body. Conventionally, spinning reels generally support both ends of the drive gear with the body and body cover, and fix them with several screws. In order to further improve precision and rigidity, the monocoque body was developed by eliminating the body cover and screwing a high-precision plate directly onto the body. This improves the gear support precision, rigidity, and airtightness. Furthermore, by utilizing the space previously taken up by the screw, the size of the drive gear has been expanded to the maximum. The monocoque body means MONO (one) COQUE (shell). Symbolizing the strength of a single shell, this completely new shape breaks the conventional wisdom of reel structure.

ZAION V
Make reels lighter and stronger. The carbon hybrid resin developed for this purpose is the ZAION V. By precisely controlling the amount of carbon to be hybridized, we have achieved a lighter weight than metal and a high level of strength comparable to metal, while also giving it versatility that allows it to be mounted on many reels. It inherits the essence of Zion, which can be said to be the maximum spec of carbon hybrid resin.

TOUGH DIGIGEAR

MAGSEALED
DAIWA's unique waterproof structure that creates a wall of magnetic mag oil in the gap between the body and the rotor to shut out seawater, dust, etc.

Stopperless body
"Even lighter and more trouble-free"
The body structure has been simplified by removing the stopper.
