The sides are made of mesh that allows water to pass through, reducing weakening. A thin gusset at the bottom allows seawater to collect during transport, preventing it from drying out and reducing damage during transport. The top of the scaly is a buoyancy element, and a slit allows it to be folded compactly. Once folded, it can be stored wet in the included waterproof bag.
