TULALA Glissando 56TT
Overview
Glissando Series GS56: Ultra-Light Rod for Precision Casting
"Small lures for big fish"—this is the guiding concept behind the Glissando series' unique trilogy models 73, 66, and the lightest of the three, GS56.
Attack-Oriented Ultra-Light Rod for Tight Spaces
Designed to navigate through tight spaces like mangrove gaps, the GS56 pairs a sharp, fast taper action with exceptional versatility. With a look as delicate as a stream rod, it’s engineered to handle lures under 1 gram, making it the finest finesse ultra-light rod in the series. While it’s ideal for manipulating small lures to attract small fish, GS56 is built with a different purpose in mind.
Strong Backbone for Hard-Hitting Fish
The GS56's construction is intentionally unique. Although it features a soft, sensitive tip akin to rods designed for light game, its backbone is firm, and its butt section is reinforced, resembling an "armor." This build is essential when targeting fish in habitats like mangroves and coral reefs, where fish have hard mouths and a habit of diving into roots or rocks. The GS56’s resilient backbone allows anglers to swiftly hook and control fish, reducing the chances of entanglement and line breaks.
Delicate Tip with Precision in Mind
The tip of the GS56 is soft enough to manage lightweight, finesse lures, even those with high air resistance, like zero-sinker jig heads. The flexible tip helps with subtle lure actions and maintains hook position during bites, offering an action suited for finicky fish. However, due to the firm midsection, GS56 provides added stability for quick, decisive hooksets—especially when fish are about to dive.
Drawbacks
For small fish lacking body weight, the robust backbone of the GS56 may lead to unhooking, especially in shallow waters. For efficient small fish targeting, a depth of about 1 meter is recommended. In areas with deeper water, the GS56's hook setting can be reinforced for smoother lure handling, making it effective even for smaller fish with flatter bodies, such as trevally or flounder.
For anglers targeting rare, smaller species, consider finesse rods like the Groovy 60S.
