Overview

As early as the late Kofun period, fishing was believed to have been conducted using simulated hooks made from natural materials such as animal horns, shells, and whale bones, which can be considered the prototypes of today's traditional lures. In recent years, synthetic resins have become predominant, allowing for the free expression of light and color, which are essential for lures. Traditional jigs are made by layering resin over a metal body, applying aluminum or similar sheets, coating, then coloring, and further coating to complete the process. This results in a very durable surface, but over time, contact with the seabed and fish teeth can cause the original color to fade. Tsuno jigs combine the inherent color and shine of traditional lure materials with jigs, emitting an unprecedented light that remains even when scratched. With one side made of lead and the other of resin, the action is unique. After a jerk, the jig falls with the lead side down, swaying, and then descends tail-first to the seabed. This movement, along with the captivating light and color unique to traditional lure materials, creates a new world of jigging.
