SHIMANO 18 Calcutta Conquest 401
Overview
The frame is machined from forged material, providing durability and a rigid reeling feel, plus casting performance and compactness. The smooth rotation and durability of the X-SHIP and micro module gears are a reliable advantage when fighting big fish. The 300 and 400 models are linked with a level wind to provide more stable casting distance and accuracy.
Center spool design
The large diameter spool is placed with high precision in the center of the body.
Currently, the spool is slightly offset from the center of the body, but by aligning it with the center of the body and efficiently placing the large diameter spool, the body has been successfully made more compact. In addition, the degree of alignment between the side plate and the frame has been improved, achieving more precise gear meshing. The synergistic effect with the micro module gear creates a smooth rotation touch.
Newly designed large diameter spool
Long casts that extend from the latter half are possible.
The spool diameter has been increased by 3 mm from the current size for both the 100 and 200 sizes. The initial rotation speed of the spool is reduced, allowing for long casts with an extended trajectory from the latter half. In addition, despite the large diameter, the low inertia design makes it as easy to cast as before.
Safety level wind
A safety mechanism that prevents injury and damage.
The torque limiter prevents damage to the level winder caused by excessive winding even if a foreign object gets in. It is also designed to be safe and prevent fingers from getting caught.
