The Aldebaran model, designed specifically for lightweight lures, is equipped with a newly designed shallow spool NEW Magnum Light Spool. By placing holes on the side of the spool, the weight and inertia are greatly reduced, and the braking force required for control is reduced. In addition to being able to handle even lighter lures, the long-distance casting performance has also been improved. Even the slight weight of a lightweight lure instantly accelerates to maximum speed, improving the feeling of casting. It has been made possible to use it up to the realm of bait finesse.

The new FTB installed on the reborn Aldebaran BFS allows for a wider range of brake settings than ever before, thanks to the expanded range of motion of the brake unit. In the previous model, even when the dial was set to 1, the magnetic force of the magnet affected the spool, but the new FTB has a structure that allows the magnetic ring to be pulled in further, increasing the distance from the spool and successfully reducing the effect of the magnetic force to as close to zero as possible. This technical specification for experts allows you to make low-trajectory flip casts even with lightweight lures of around 1g.

The Magnum Light Spool III, which has achieved unprecedented low inertia through significant thinning, is installed for the first time in a bait finesse model. Equipped with this lightweight spool that provides an outstanding casting feel that rises lightly and extends comfortably, you can now make pinpoint casts with low trajectories with greater precision. In addition, the structure of the FTB model, in which the brake unit is not attached to the spool, realizes a light and nimble casting feel that is even more pronounced with the light rotation of the Magnum Light Spool in the river. The low trajectory cast that delivers lightweight lures to the depths of the water has been further refined.

HAGANE

Micro module gear
A new drive system in which small precision gears mesh tightly.

X-Ship
Larger diameter drive gear, optimal positioning of both pinion and drive gears, and two-point support by pinion gear bearings. These sturdy gear meshings ensure light and easy reeling that is resistant to loads.

HAGANE Body
By using lightweight and highly rigid metals such as aluminum and magnesium, the reel's flex, distortion, and twisting are firmly suppressed. It protects the delicate gear meshing and enables smooth reeling.

The first generation Magnum Light Spool has evolved into the second generation Magnum Light Spool, and the latest Magnum Light Spool III has been born as the third generation. We have attempted to make the spool even thinner, achieving a lower inertia than before without compromising durability. In addition to long-distance casting performance, it has a lighter start-up that far exceeds the conventional one, an exhilarating casting feel that extends endlessly, and a significant improvement in trouble-free performance.

Silent Tune
By applying light pressure to the bearing that holds the spool, vibration during high-speed rotation is reduced. Quietness during casting and the start-up of spool rotation have been further improved.

Finesse Tune Brake System
Shimano's unique brake mechanism. Pursuing the lightest spool for bait finesse.
To improve the pitching performance of lightweight lures, the weight of the spool is a major challenge. In the past, we tried to reduce the weight by blanking the spool, but there was a limit as long as the brake unit was attached. Shimano's proprietary FTB eliminates the brake unit from the spool, successfully developing the lightest spool in the history of Shimano bait finesse reels. This is an unprecedented brake system that applies a magnetic brake directly to the spool.

CI4+
A new carbon material that is an evolution of the lightweight carbon material CI4. While maintaining its lightness, the rigidity and durability have been significantly improved, making it possible to make the reel smaller and lighter.

S3D spool

SA-RB
By applying a special rust-proofing treatment to the bearing itself, durability against rust has been significantly improved. The sides of the S A-RB are also sealed with an anti-rust material, greatly reducing salt buildup caused by salt recrystallization inside the bearings.

Super Free Spool
When the clutch is released, only two bearings support the spool. This system reduces rattling and maximizes spool-free performance.
