DSEX-73 – Technical Spinning

Designed for high-volume rockfish (Mebaru) fishing in harbors, under lights, and other urban fishing spots.

Optimized for small plugs weighing 2–3 g, the rod features a regular taper that bends smoothly yet maintains a crisp blank. This balance allows anglers to impart actions like pop-and-retrieve or shaking without over-agitating the plug, letting it move naturally in the water.

Unlike jig-head plus worm setups, rockfish plugging often uses plugs with tiny #14 treble hooks. The DSEX-73’s combination of supple bending and crisp blank ensures that even these small treble hooks stay securely in the fish’s mouth during a bite, allowing each fish to be hooked reliably. It provides a controlled, precise feel for catching multiple Mebaru one by one.
