This model of the Daibisen incorporates a shell plate as an inner plate within its body. To highlight the unique shine of the shell plate, the paint has been intentionally minimized, bringing out the mysterious shimmer of the shell. While it shares the same colors as the regular Daibisen, this version offers a half-tone finish.

Experience the Natural Glow:

The Daibisen Shell is designed to maximize the allure of the embedded shell plate by intentionally reducing the paint coverage along the sides and underside of the body. As a result, the natural reflective light from the shell plate is accentuated, especially in sunlight, making it highly effective in drawing the attention of trout just below the water surface.

Perfectly Sized Upgrade:
The typical length of a Haruzemi cicada is around 32-37mm, with the Ezo Haruzemi being slightly larger. The 38mm size of the original Bisen perfectly matched this natural scale, delivering impressive casting distances despite its lightweight construction. However, to overcome the limitations imposed by its weight, the Daibi Sen and Daibi Sen Shell were developed, offering a slightly larger size to cover previously unreachable distances.

With a length of 43mm and a weight of 4g, the Daibisen and Daibisen Shell are not significantly larger than the original Bisen (38mm, 2.6g), yet their casting range will undoubtedly impress. The expanded range of attack possibilities exceeds expectations, all while maintaining a size that perfectly mimics the Haruzemi.

Action:
While the upgraded size expands the range of attack, it’s crucial that the Daibisen Shell retains the distinctive action of the original Bisen. The unique movements and action quality of the Bisen had to be preserved, as merely enlarging the size would result in a different, less effective action. The Daibisen Shell has achieved this by carefully adjusting the wing size and angle, ensuring that its tight, noisy action and single-point shake remain as effective as those of the original. However, the enhanced action (and wave appeal) due to the size increase is more pronounced.

Rear Mounted Movable Wings:

The Daibisen Shell features the characteristic design of the Bisen, with wings attached at a pivot point on its back. This realistic appearance and silhouette during pauses make it particularly appealing to trout beneath the water’s surface. Unlike the standard Bisen, the wings are thinner to improve water resistance, with a tapered thickness for enhanced strength, especially at the pivot point where the connection is reinforced with thicker resin.

Tungsten Weight:
Despite its small and lightweight design, which tends to create air resistance, the use of tungsten weights ensures that the Daibisen Shell achieves greater casting distances and a stable flight posture.

Effective Usage Tips:
Slow Retrieve: Keep the rod tip down and retrieve slowly, allowing the lure to wobble side to side while leaving a wake on the surface.
Twitch & Pause: Add a few quick twitches followed by a pause. This minimal movement creates a popping sound and spreads ripples on the surface, mimicking the fluttering of a struggling cicada, attracting fish.
"Leave-it" Method: Particularly effective in managed fishing areas (pay ponds), this method involves letting the lure rest for an extended period after casting. This often triggers a bite as the trout approach the seemingly helpless cicada.
Hooking Tip: As with all topwater lures, avoid striking too early. Wait until you feel tension on the rod before setting the hook.
Connection: The Daibisen Shell does not come with a split ring on the line eye. It is recommended to use a small snap for connection.
