SMITH Catapy II #25 Luminous Black Belly
Overview
Apology and Notice Regarding Initial Batch Defects:
The original catfish-specific plug, Catapie, has been upgraded to Catapie II, which now allows for the attachment of a light-emitting device on the head from 2024.
The unique thrill of catfish fishing comes from their unexpectedly loud vacuum-like feeding sounds such as "Pass!" "Pass!" "Chuba!" "Chuba!" and the sight of the lure being pulled underwater. The excitement of targeting catfish is heightened by using topwater lures.
To enhance the appeal to the actively moving catfish during the evening and night, Catapie II was designed to move water and produce sound with a simple retrieve. Additionally, to make catfish games more enjoyable in low-light condi
tions, the lure's visibility has been significantly improved.
To lure catfish, the sound and action are designed as follows:
- Simply retrieve to produce a regular, slightly sweet and moist "clop! clop!" sound from the metal lip (cup).
- Vigorously twist the body from side to side to move water and create a strong appeal.
- Ensure that the lure's action during retrieval is clearly felt in your hand. These aspects were prioritized for effective catfish fishing.
Double Hook Configuration Ideal for Catfish Games:
Double hooks have been installed with consideration for snag-free performance.
We recommend using these hooks with the barbs crushed down during catfish games. This model is designed to easily accommodate barb crushing.
Improving Visibility for Night Fishing
By inserting a commercially available glow stick (Φ2.9 Chemi-Hotaru), nighttime visibility is significantly enhanced. There are insertion points provided at the eye and head sections (cannot be inserted simultaneously).
The insertion point for the glow stick offers excellent visibility to anglers manipulating the lure, while also preventing light leakage downwards through the metal lip (cup), making it difficult for target fish like catfish to detect the presence of the glow stick. The insertion direction ensures maximum visibility for the angler while allowing them to visually confirm the intensity of the lure's action.
Inserting the Glow Stick into the Eye Hole
Simply insert the Chemi-Hotaru into the eye hole for installation. The light is blocked downward by the metal lip (cup), making it less detectable by catfish. Additionally, the low protrusion of the Chemi-Hotaru reduces the likelihood of troubles when navigating around obstacles.
