Overview

The Fusion of Casting Distance and Power Paves New Horizons for Surf Casting Rods.

To confront large fish lurking in far-off currents that were previously unreachable. This flagship surf casting rod is designed with the concept of "farther and stronger," pursuing ultimate performance in the blanks, guides, and all component details.

The essence of the blanks features a soft tip equivalent to a 4号 (No. 4) surf rod, which excels at precise and delicate line mending necessary to entice wary fish to bite, and a hard butt design equivalent to a 6号 (No. 6) surf rod, ensuring resilience and recovery power that can withstand the explosive power of large bluefish, like the over-one-meter-long yellowtail.

Naturally, the blanks are constructed with Spiral X Core and High Power X technology, which completely eliminates twisting and crushing, allowing for stable casting and accurate output of the angler's inputs. To accommodate an unbalanced tackle system with large reels and nylon lines over 10号 (No. 10), the first guide features X Guide Touch Free Titanium. This design prevents blank touch during line release, achieving both long casting and trouble-free line management, which was previously impossible with conventional guide systems.

To reduce the angler's burden during fights, the front grip features a non-slip matte rubber coating, allowing for secure two-handed grip, while the detachable fighting bottom disperses the load during fights, providing reliable support when battling large fish.

Every dimension of surf casting rods is transformed. Experience the arrival of a new era.

Bull's Eye Limited 500:

The rod features a soft tip equivalent to a #4 shore rod, excelling in precise and delicate line mending to entice wary fish. It also boasts a hard butt design equivalent to a #6 shore rod, equipped with the resilience and recovery power needed to withstand the explosive strength and power of large bluefin like those exceeding a meter in length.

KEY FEATURE
The Importance of Long Casting in Bait Fishing

Achieve longer casting distances without trouble. Target large fish in previously unreachable waters.

"Just an extra 10 meters, or even 5 meters, in casting distance would allow me to reach the spot and the fish..." Many bait fishing enthusiasts have likely experienced such frustrating thoughts when faced with the currents offshore or roaming yellowtail. In bait fishing, launching a rig filled with bait and synchronizing it directly with the hook in offshore waters makes long casting power a significant advantage, allowing anglers to explore a wide area. While it’s appealing to target large fish that do not come close to the shore, the larger the fish, the thicker the line becomes, which decreases casting distance.

The limited options of only low-footed guides with small diameters for the first guide were a significant reason for this. During casting, the line released from the reel's spool hits the blanks, not only preventing an increase in distance but also causing line troubles. The Bulls Eye Limited effectively addresses these concerns.

The first guide employs the X Guide Touch Free Titanium (sliding) with a high foot and optimal diameter. This design reduces blank contact during casting, achieving a stress-free casting feel and increased distance. Additionally, it features a tip equivalent to a 4号 (No. 4) that facilitates enticing wary fish, combined with a butt equivalent to a 6号 (No. 6) that enhances casting distance and eases fights. The fighting bottom and processing around the reel seat further support the potential of the blanks, resulting in a rod that can directly hit previously unreachable offshore points and bring out large fish.

X Guide Touch Free Titanium (Sliding)

Reduces blank contact, enhancing casting feel and distance.

Equipped with the new Shimano original guide, the X Guide Touch Free Titanium (sliding).

The Bulls Eye Limited is designed with the assumption that it will be paired with Shimano spinning reels ranging from SW8000 to SW14000 and nylon lines of 10号 (No. 10) or thicker for targeting large yellowtail. In this case, the traditional first guides used in bait fishing rods feature small guide diameters and low heights, causing the line released in a spiral from the reel spool to repeatedly contact the blanks, resulting in decreased casting distance. This also creates an uncomfortable casting feel, leading to line twists and potentially causing line troubles such as tip entanglement or breakage during fights.

To address this, the X Guide Touch Free Titanium (sliding) is employed. This guide is a modified version of Shimano's unique X Guide Touch Free Titanium, which is featured on the Colt Sniper Limited, Shimano's top-of-the-line shore casting rod. By minimizing blank contact during casting, it quickly converges the spiral of the line and suppresses line twisting. This small-diameter, high-frame guide is strategically placed at the top to ensure the optimal height and distance balance with large spinning reels. It effectively reduces blank contact and line twisting, preventing a decrease in casting distance while providing a comfortable casting feel and trouble-free experience.

Blank Concept for Targeting Large Fish:

Designed to be lightweight and easy to cast, while being gentle on the body during fights. It achieves a high level of both baiting power and landing ability.

One of the challenges in targeting yellowtail, known for their overwhelming power and speed, is their tendency to dive into structures. When you hook a fish in deeper waters, it can quickly dash toward the structure, leading to line breaks—a common occurrence. To prevent this, you should continuously cast back using boiled shrimp as bait, and in certain areas, add surface bait to draw fish down from the surface. This is why yellowtail fishing is said to be a sustainable technique; it prevents floating fish from escaping.

The Bulls Eye Limited features Spiral X Core and High Power X blanks, which enhance torsional rigidity and crush resistance without adding weight. The design balances the power and strength needed for long casts and fights. Compared to the 15 Yellowtail Special, the Bulls Eye Limited achieves about a 20% reduction in blank weight, making it easier to cast longer distances while also reducing the strain typically associated with stiffer rods during fights, providing an advantage when dealing with large fish.

Additionally, popular fishing spots often see a high number of anglers throughout the season, making yellowtail wary. The Bulls Eye Limited's #1 soft tip, equivalent to a 4号 (No. 4), facilitates easy operation for enticing wary fish, tightening the line, and making line management easier. Once hooked, the robust #6 equivalent butt section demonstrates its power, creating more opportunities for successful hooks and making it easier to land larger fish.

Grip Design for Easier Fighting

The grip area and the rod butt have been thoughtfully designed to provide strong support for two-handed fighting techniques.

During fights with yellowtail, known for their overwhelming speed and power, it's common to brace the rod butt against your stomach while crouching down and gripping the top of the reel seat with both hands. The Bulls Eye Limited enhances grip stability by applying a longer matte rubber coating up to the product logo, increasing slip resistance when holding the rod with both hands.

Additionally, attaching the included detachable EVA fighting bottom to the rod butt reduces the strain on your stomach when the rod butt is pressed against it. This design allows for a more secure hold on the rod butt, enabling a stronger fight. Overall, it helps reduce the angler's physical strain, assisting in the capture of larger fish.

FEATURES:

Guide Hold System (Tip #1):

The fixed part of the movable guide on Tip #1 has been thickened and designed with a knurled, non-slip texture to suppress distortion and bending of the guide caused by torque during casting.

Stainless Frame SiC K Guide:

Adopting a large diameter K guide that emphasizes line release when using thick line, ensuring trouble-free performance.

Detachable Fighting Bottom:

When attached, it increases the contact area during a waist-down position, reducing strain on the body.

Matte Rubber Coating on the Butt Section:

The matte rubber coating is applied longer compared to conventional models, enhancing slip resistance during two-handed fighting.
