SHIMANO 24 ColtSniper SS S106MH
Overview
Lightweight Operation Blanks with Hidden Power
The "Colt Sniper SS" has evolved with the concept of being more powerful and agile. As a standard shore jigging rod from Shimano, it focuses on ease of use for anglers of all skill levels. It features the basic structure of [Spiral X] that achieves the best balance between lightness and strength, as well as a reinforced structure of [High Power X] that prevents wobbling and twisting during casting. The [Screw Lock Joint] enhances the fixing power of the joints while making them easy to detach. The [V-Hold Front Grip] provides stability during fights. By generously incorporating technology developed in higher-end models, it achieves a high balance of lightweight operation and powerful fighting capability, excelling in various shore jigging scenarios.
KEY FEATURE
The "Colt Sniper SS" has evolved further in pursuit of enhanced lightness and strength, specifically designed for targeting large pelagic fish.
This newly revamped rod emphasizes the need for lightweight operation for extended periods to facilitate lure manipulation when encountering unpredictable targets. It balances this with the power needed for confident fighting once a fish is hooked. The "Colt Sniper SS" aims to achieve a high level of coexistence between these two inherently opposing elements without compromising on lightweight design, achieving even greater power than the previous model. Additionally, technologies used in flagship models have been applied to the grip and joint sections, ensuring a user experience on par with higher-end models.
Lightness and strength are often contradictory, but Shimano's unique technology makes it possible to achieve both.
The secret to balancing the lightness and strength of the blanks lies in Shimano's technologies: Spiral X and High Power X. Spiral X features a three-layer structure where carbon tape is tightly wound in opposite diagonal directions around the inner and outer layers of vertical fibers in the rod. This enhances instantaneous power transfer for all necessary actions in fishing, from casting to fighting fish, supporting anglers’ comfortable fishing experience. High Power X further tightens the blanks with carbon tape in an X-shape, significantly reducing twisting during fights and casts. Utilizing these unique blank designs from Shimano, the coexistence of lightness and strength is realized.
INHERITED TECHNOLOGY FROM HIGH-END MODELS
Screw Lock Joint
The screw lock joint is a Shimano proprietary technology that connects the blanks by twisting them together. This prevents the sections from sticking and reduces wobbling or misalignment at the joints during use, thereby preventing unexpected breakage under high loads during casting. Considering that fights with large fish are anticipated in shore jigging, it's crucial to prevent loosening at the joints to ensure the blanks’ inherent power is fully realized. This technology also allows for easy alignment based on marked indicators.
V-Hold Front Grip
The V-shaped cross-section design reduces slipping and provides stable support during power fights, improving resistance to fatigue.
Double Nut Design
The reel seat features a double nut design that enhances the fixing power with the reel, preventing loosening and wobbling, ensuring trouble-free operation.
