SHIMANO 20 Metanium XG Right
Overview
The "Magnum Light Spool III" (first used in the 19 Antares) achieves unprecedented low inertia by significantly thinning the material. And the "Core Solid Body" (first used in the 18 Pantam MGL) achieves high rigidity comparable to that of a circular reel while maintaining a low profile by integrally molding the main frame and level wind protector. These two innovative technologies are condensed into one reel for the first time in the new Metanium.
The Magnum Light Spool III, which boasts a light start-up and overwhelming ease of release, is housed in a highly rigid and compact Core Solid Body, which can handle "lighter lures", improves the extension of low trajectory casts that "attack further into the depths", and has the strength to adapt to "stronger fishing". In addition, while the Bantam MGL used aluminum for the main frame and side plates, the new Metanium uses magnesium. This makes the compact and easy-to-use Core Solid Body even lighter.
While retaining the Metanium's identity of "high operability brought about by lightness," it has improved its ability to handle more powerful and technical fishing. More technical, more all-round. The new Metanium once again rewrites the standard of versatility.
Its sharp operability can be used in any situation
What makes the Metanium a Metanium is that it has a body size and shape that is easy for anyone to handle, the lightness brings about light and sharp operability, and high versatility. In the new Metanium, the drive gear has been changed from aluminum to ultra-high strength brass in pursuit of even greater toughness. Combined with the adoption of a core solid body, it has improved its adaptability to "strong fishing" compared to the previous model, but while the rigidity has been increased, the weight is the same as the previous model. Moreover, the size has been made more compact, making the well-known high operability even sharper. The new Metanium has dramatically improved its capabilities as an all-rounder. It is a machine that can respond to the diverse techniques of anglers in various situations.
SVS INFINITY
SVS (Infinity) is a centrifugal brake, but it has a wide range of brake adjustment that can be used in most situations by adjusting only the external dial. If you turn on the four brake shoes when casting, there is no need to adjust the internal brake shoes. When more detailed settings are required, you can fine-tune with the internal brake shoes.
Basically, all four internal brake shoes can be turned on.
Brake force can be adjusted with only the external dial to handle most situations.
MICROMODULE GEAR
Ultra-small precision gears and elaborate body housing provide a "silky" winding feel that you have never experienced before. The vibration level is less than half that of conventional gears (compared to our company), and the increased number of meshing teeth ensures strength that surpasses conventional gears. Shimano's unique gear system combines a smooth feeling with strength.
S3D SPOOL
By completely reviewing the cutting method, the spool precision has been improved significantly, and the quietness during casting has also been improved (compared to our previous model). The smooth rotation without any shaking creates even greater casting distance.
SILENT TUNE
O-rings are placed on the inner and outer diameters of the bearings, increasing the degree of adhesion with the shaft and frame and reducing rattling. This eliminates rotation loss and achieves a high level of quietness and a smooth feeling.
