DC = Digital Control Brake is Shimano's unique system that electronically controls the brakes only when necessary. With braking that cannot be achieved with magnets or centrifugal force, it enables outstanding long-distance casting. The "NEW 4x8DC brake", the 7th generation DC, has significantly improved microcomputer control functions. By automatically controlling the no-brake time immediately after casting, which is the most important factor in long-distance casting performance, in millisecond increments, the maximum RPM has increased by approximately 12%, and by maintaining this, it is possible to cast even farther.
