Project Mission:

Tsushima City, Nagasaki Prefecture, is known as a “breakwater of marine debris” due to the vast amounts of ocean plastic that wash ashore. This product contains 10% of this ocean plastic, including blue polyethylene tanks, of which about 2,000 wash ashore annually.

Ocean plastic is often heavily soiled and costly to process, making it difficult for companies to use it continuously, which has resulted in limited recycling efforts until now.

At Ring Star Co., Ltd., with a history dating back to 1887, we’ve succeeded in creating a durable storage item using recycled plastic that maintains the same strength and long-lasting usability as our other products. Through collaboration with the Nara Industrial Research Institute, we conducted durability tests and confirmed that our recycled plastic products have the same load-bearing capacity as our traditional ones.

This product is designed to be a real solution, not just a symbolic “SDGs” initiative. At Ring Star Co., Ltd., we aim to create a world where every company genuinely tackles environmental issues. As a manufacturer that mainly deals with plastic products, our goal is to promote the “correct choice, correct disposal, and correct engagement” with plastics.

• The product is made by mixing pellets from crushed blue tanks with virgin pellets, resulting in a speckled blue pattern that does not affect the product's durability or functionality.
