It is slightly weaker than nylon in terms of strength, but it is particularly durable, with excellent resistance to scratches, scuffs, and abrasion, and has no water absorption (0%), so it does not deteriorate in water. It sinks quickly with a specific gravity of 1.78 (nylon 1.14 / ester 1.38). Its refractive index is 1.42, close to water’s 1.33 (nylon 1.53 / ester 1.60), making the line difficult to see underwater, and it can be connected together and stored compactly thanks to the use of ultra-thin connecting spools.
