After two years of trial and error in actual fishing tests, the Chimera was completed. It is optimal for early to mid-season Ayu when the bite is poor. Especially in tournament scenes, the second and third Ayu often become the target after the first Ayu has been caught. During such times, mouth hooking frequently occurs. The ability to reliably catch that mouth hook can often determine the outcome of the competition. The Chimera is designed to securely capture that one fish that is hooked in the mouth.
