As its name suggests, the MEGADOG MASTER is a big-bait rod engineered specifically to unleash the full, otherworldly potential of the MEGADOG. It delivers astonishing long-distance casting performance capable of sending a 130 g MEGADOG on super long bombs, while maintaining crisp, precise lure control throughout the retrieve.

The 7’7” high-power shaft, built with Megabass’ latest Destroyer 5D Graphite System, generates a smooth regular taper that responds seamlessly to applied load. Even when visibility is compromised and lure action is hard to visually confirm, the rod makes it easy to feel and time each dog-walk. With minimal effort, anyone can produce 180-degree slides and turns (with MEGADOG).

A high-tension belly section and highly rigid butt section load the MEGADOG deeply into the blank, producing overwhelming castability that launches the bait effortlessly toward the target. Massive torque and powerful lifting performance ensure reliable control when fighting meter-class monsters—power that belies the blank’s surprising lightness, a hallmark of the Cookai series.

The tip section is tuned with a supple action suited to heavy-class PE lines used in MEGADOG games. It reduces blow-outs on bites and allows the lure’s three hooks to engage cleanly. This wide performance envelope makes it highly compatible with other large baits such as the KONOSIRUS series, SAZANKA, and GORHAM, giving the rod outstanding offensive range and comfort for next-generation monster seabass hunts.

5D Graphite System

The next-generation shaft technology developed for the world-dominating Destroyer series. As the name implies, five prepreg elements—each optimized for longitudinal, lateral, diagonal, elongation, and elasticity performance—are cut and arranged like an intricate puzzle, then fused into one shaft. This reduces overlapping layers compared to traditional multi-layer construction, resulting in ultra-light blanks with precise action and high durability. By removing excess graphite layers, maximum performance is achieved with minimal material. Cookai brings a new dimension to saltwater fishing.

Head Locking System (PAT.P)

An evolution of the solid-aluminum head-locking construction introduced in the Destroyer series, optimized for the power of saltwater targets. It dramatically increases the axial rigidity of the blank’s butt section when the reel is mounted. Even subtle vibrations from minnows or jigs, as well as minute changes in lure action, are transmitted from tip to reel seat with zero loss, delivering amplified sensitivity directly into the angler’s hands. This creates a new sensation of linear directability linking body, arms, fingers, and rod.

ITS Ergonomic Casting Reel Seat (D.PAT.)

Designed for perfect ergonomics across all gripping styles—one-finger, two-finger, full-palm, casting, retrieving, fighting, and hand switching. It maximizes comfort and rod control in any situation. The full-contact design enhances directability and supports rough fights with large fish, allowing the Cookai’s strong yet lightweight blank performance to be fully realized.

Titanium-Frame SiC-S Guides

Each model is equipped with Megabass’ carefully selected ultra-light, high-strength titanium-frame / SiC-S guides. The setup was refined through extensive field testing by ITO Engineering and Megabass saltwater specialists nationwide. The result is optimized performance for long-distance casting, lure controllability, directability, line management, and stress distribution from 0° to 130° during battle.
