The hook has a weak point where the sinker is fixed to it, and when the fish shakes its head, the sinker is attached and the hook breaks off easily. This has been overcome by
making the hook an out-barb. The out-barb eliminates the mechanism that uses the weight of the sinker to swing out, reducing the number of breaks off.
The head is a round type with a forward center of gravity. It assists the roll action when swimming, as in mid-stroking.
