ENGAGE Knives Bass Rods Series

The new shape of the bass rod proposed by GRASSROOTS is the ENGAGE Knives Series, embodying the ideal of the bass rod based on the basic concept of "ENGAGE." Revisiting and reassessing the elements and basic performance required of a bass rod, each lure, technique, and method is designed with a clear concept. Every aspect of the rod, including blank materials, manufacturing methods, guide parts, and reel seats, has been carefully selected and set up with the best possible parts and technology.

The performance sought in the Knives Series is the fusion of lightweight and sharp operability with robust and torque-filled rigidity. Lighter, more resilient, and stronger... Its feel and handling are as sharp as finely crafted steel.

The Knives Series employs a high-pressure multilayer bias method with thin pre-preg as a consistent basic construction, achieving a high taper combining lightness and robustness. Furthermore, by using Toray's NANOALLOY® polymer in the resin, which is the muscle of the rod, the crushing resistance of the blanks' cross-section is reinforced, converting the blank's crushing stress into lifting power. The result is an ultra-lightweight, high-sensitivity feel. It has an extremely dry and sharp swing-through feel while being resilient under load, with a robust butt power to support it. This is the ideal bass rod.

BLANKS MATERIAL

The blank material composition consists of three types. Toray's pre-preg with different elastic moduli is used appropriately for the base graphite, with the construction tailored to each model.

1. Premium Synthetic

   

   • A hybrid shaft reinforced with aramid synthetic fibers laminated with graphite of different elastic moduli.
2. Premium Polymer

   

   • Blanks constructed with graphite of different elastic moduli, standing out for their lightweight, sensitivity, and agile operability.
3. Multi Direction Layer

   

   • Based on unidirectional glass with a layer of graphite and aramid synthetic fibers at the butt section, further tightened with 4Axial carbon tape for a composite shaft.

GRIP DESIGN

Glass Solid Tip for Mid-Strolling with Exceptional Line Control

Designed as a dedicated mid-strolling rod, the EKS64UL/GST emphasizes effortless handling and balance for all-day shaking. It features a new construction that combines a short glass solid tip with a Nano Alloy and Aramid Synthetic Fiber blank. The flexible glass tip section bends during the take-back, assisting in long casts with lightweight rigs. It enables continuous, rhythmic, loose amplitude shaking during operation.

Mid-strolling often involves counter bites in the upper to middle layers, and the glass solid tip's responsiveness aids in maintaining a connection to the fish until hook-up. The smooth taper connecting the middle to butt section ensures effective hook sets even for distant bites. The rod also possesses enough butt power to handle the surges of big bass confidently.

As indicated by its sub-name, "Slack Control Custom," this rod excels not only in mid-strolling but also in bottom strolling, Neko rigs, and other techniques that involve shaking with slack line.
