Overview: In 2024, the Monster Surf 1002 Bakuto Short Special was born—a 10ft short version of the 1092 Bakuto Special. By shortening the rod, the moment load dramatically changes, improving swing speed and ease of use. This rod is designed for anglers with less physical strength, shorter stature, or for female anglers who want to throw 50g jigs or 40g shinpens with full swing.
The main concept was not simply lightweight handling, but maximizing swing speed to achieve effortless long-distance casting. Unlike the original 1092 model, which required strong execution to reach maximum distance, the 1002 Short Special allows smooth, controlled, and far-reaching casts even for less powerful anglers.
Development History:
2018: Initial prototype shakedown with 50g jigs and 40g shinpens, focusing on:
