DAIWA 19 Catalina 15H-SJ

An offshore jigging reel with powerful winding performance that can withstand high loads, smooth rotation and drag performance. The heart of the reel is the Hyper Digigear, and the drag is equipped with ATD, providing high basic performance. The spool can be replaced, making it easy to change the line size depending on the situation or when the line breaks (only compatible with genuine spools). The drag clutch is equipped with a large diameter star drag and a long clutch bar as standard, as it will be operated frequently. The 15H targets red sea bream, hairtail, rockfish, and bluefish, while the 15H-SJ targets mid-deep seas, making it ideal for near-shore jigging. This is the ultimate in reliable and sturdy jigging baits.

Super Metal Housing
The frame is made of super metal (high-strength aluminum), which provides high rigidity against twisting during reeling, reducing power loss and enabling powerful winding.
The Catalina uses a robust body with an integrated aluminum die-cast frame and side plate that aims to achieve both operability and high rigidity.
We tested all kinds of ways to hold it and pursued an easy grip and comfortable hold.
In addition, we adopted a long clutch bar and a large-diameter long-arm star drag to improve comfortable operability during actual fishing.

Φ50mm high-strength aluminum spool
The Catalina is equipped with a Φ50mm high-strength aluminum spool.
Line capacity is compatible with PE1.5-600m to PE3-300m.
This jigging bait reel can be used for all kinds of targets, from near-shore jigging to mid-deep sea slow jigging.
Since a lightweight spool is used, do not wind the line with more tension than necessary.
When winding PE line, we recommend winding with a line tension of about 1kg.
When winding nylon line on the bottom, use a thickness of 6 or more. In that case, we recommend winding with a line tension of about 500g.

Easy spool replacement
Adopts a three-point support structure with side plate screws that are difficult to loosen even in rough conditions.
The structure allows the spool to be easily replaced so that it can be quickly adapted to sudden breaks or changes in PE line size depending on sea conditions.
The body cover can be removed by removing the three side plate screws on the gearbox side with the included hex wrench.
To prevent falling off, the side plate screws are designed not to come off even when completely loosened. Avoids trouble of losing them.

Large diameter mechanical brake knob
The mechanical brake is a function that brakes the spool rotation when the lure (jig) is dropped with the clutch off.
The large diameter mechanical brake knob is used so that it is easy to operate with your thumb even while gripping the reel.
When you turn the clutch off and throw the lure (jig) into the water, adjust it so that there is not too much line slack.
Similarly, adjust it when changing tides (two layers) or lures (jigs).
When casting lightly with an underhand cast, adjust the mechanical brake to a range where the spool does not rattle, and use it in combination with the centrifugal brake.

Centrifugal brake
The brake collar set on the inside of the spool expands as the spool rotates, and the frictional resistance generated by contact with the outer ring creates a braking effect.
The standard brake collar (white) has a large braking force, while the included brake collar (red) has a small braking force, so you can set it according to the situation.
This model has a long handle and an auto-return clutch function, so the clutch may return when casting.
This model is intended for use only for light underhand casting.
When lightly casting underhand, use it in conjunction with the mechanical brake.

Perfect Double Stopper
In addition to the normal stopper, it is equipped with a mechanical stopper.
It is highly durable, and in the unlikely event that the infinite stopper fails, another mechanical stopper will activate to prevent reversal, making it a safety feature.

Click mechanism
A mechanism that makes a clicking sound when the line is pulled out.
Used for tackle setting (when threading the guide), etc.
