Overview

For Those Who Fight: "TOURNAMENT."
The mission is clear—to continuously evolve by integrating cutting-edge, advanced technology. On rocky shores, where harsh conditions can arise, the ultimate role of tackle is to elevate the angler's performance to its peak.

The Realm of TOURNAMENT:
In rock fishing, it takes on the challenge of "competitions" that demand the highest level of focus and skill, as well as the battle against large fish. For long-distance casting with floats, it withstands the immense power of bluefish. Supporting these pursuits are products that revolutionize fishing techniques and enhance anglers' satisfaction.

By adopting the latest technology at the forefront, TOURNAMENT sets a new standard for rock fishing. Stronger, faster, more comfortable—the pursuit never ends, always standing with those who fight.

A New Era of Rock Fishing Rods
The Shock of Ultra-Slim Design
A new frontier opened by ultra-slim, thick-walled blanks paired with high-modulus carbon.

The one-of-a-kind ultra-slim, thick-walled blank offers an incredibly sharp casting feel while its streamlined silhouette drastically reduces wind resistance, delivering exceptional maneuverability and an unparalleled lightweight feel in hand.

Once hooked, the rod transitions from a fast action to a parabolic action in response to load, generating incredible strength and lifting power as it bends deeper.

Daiwa's cutting-edge technology makes the impossible possible, culminating in the ultimate answer: an ultra-slim rod for black bream. The all-new TOURNAMENT series shatters conventional limits.

Daiwa Technology Overview

ESS (Expert Sense Simulation)

The ESS system analyzes and designs rod performance by evaluating the strain energy created when a rod bends and attempts to return to its original shape. This strain energy is a critical factor in determining rod capabilities. Daiwa developed this proprietary system to not only identify strengths and weaknesses with numerical clarity but also incorporate anglers' sensory feedback into the design, ensuring rods closely align with user needs.

AGS (Air Guide System)

AGS uses carbon frames for guides, offering approximately three times the rigidity of titanium. This design enhances sensitivity by transmitting line vibrations directly to the blank without absorption. The lightweight carbon construction improves swing speed, minimizes tip wobble, and significantly enhances casting distance and control. The slanted shape reduces tip vibration and prevents line tangling, ensuring smooth, trouble-free fishing.

SMT (Super Metal Top)

SMT features a highly elastic titanium alloy tip exclusive to Daiwa, delivering unparalleled sensitivity that carbon materials cannot achieve. This metal tip amplifies vibrations, providing exceptional tactile feedback and visual sensitivity. Its robust yet flexible design detects even subtle bites and is highly compatible with PE lines, making it ideal for precise fishing techniques. Available only on SMT models.

MEGA TOP

MEGA TOP is a carbon solid tip with uniformly dispersed fibers and resin, ensuring consistent bending in all directions. This uniformity enhances strength compared to conventional carbon solids. The result is a thin, flexible, high-tapered tip with outstanding sensitivity that excels in both tactile and visual detection of bites. Its flexibility accommodates subtle tension on the line. Available only on MEGA TOP models.

V-JOINT α

The V-JOINT α system incorporates high-strength nano-alloy materials and precise Daiwa processing technology. This evolution of the original V-JOINT results in stronger, lighter joints with smoother bends. By thinning the joint sections, the overall blank achieves a slimmer profile, improving casting and operational feel.

SVF NANOPLUS

Combining ultra-high-density carbon SVF with Toray’s Nano Alloy Technology, Daiwa's unique manufacturing method achieves even greater strength, reduced weight, and a slimmer profile.

X45

The X45 technology incorporates bias-crossed carbon fibers at ±45° angles in addition to the conventional 0° and 90° orientations. This structure prevents rod twisting during actions like casting, fighting, or hooking, resulting in significant improvements in power, control, and sensitivity.

ZERO SEAT

The ZERO SEAT concept reimagines reel seat design to minimize stress and maximize enjoyment. The "Power Hump Hold Seat" is specifically designed to provide a secure grip and ease of power application during fights.

IC Guard

The IC Guard uses a combination of I-shaped longitudinal grooves and C-shaped circumferential grooves with a specialized coating to reduce moisture-induced line stickiness. Its synergy with the durable, water-repellent Super Coat enhances smooth line handling and comfort.

Product Details

Revolutionary Ultra-Slim, Thick-Walled Blank

The innovative ultra-slim, thick-walled blank combines the Power Slim Blank with high-elasticity carbon, including Toray® M46X. This design enables the rod to flex sharply in response to a fish's run, while the high-elasticity carbon provides extraordinary lifting power once the rod is bent.

Power Hump Hold Seat for Enhanced Grip

The reel seat features a slightly raised upper section, allowing a firm grip with the index finger resting on the lever for added power during palming. Its shorter design allows the rod to bend further towards the angler, maximizing control and leverage.

AGS (Type-0) and TC-IM Guides

Equipped with AGS Type-0 guides on #1 to #2 sections and TC-IM guides from the fixed #3 section onward. The lightweight guides quickly stabilize the rod tip, making it easier to detect subtle bites. The oval-shaped rings reduce line release resistance, while the smooth, rounded frame design minimizes line tangles.

Rear Grip with Balancer Effect

The rear grip incorporates weight for a balancer effect, reducing perceived heaviness and improving overall maneuverability. This design shifts the center of gravity closer to the hand, enhancing control for line mending, casting, and other operations. Testers have praised the rod for feeling remarkably light despite its actual weight.

IC Guard

The IC Guard protects the line from rain and spray, preventing it from sticking to the blank. This ensures smooth and comfortable line handling, even in wet conditions.
