It was inevitable for his trusted bait finesse machine, the 12HERMIT, to undergo a dramatic evolution.

The previous HERMIT combined a solid tip with a slender yet thick tubular blank, offering near-full-solid maneuverability and ease of hooking. The model catapulted Kawaguchi to podiums repeatedly, particularly excelling in casting lightweight rigs like the neko rig and small jigs, enabling rhythmic shaking for swimming techniques.
