DAIWA 16 Sea Paradise
Overview
A spinning reel exclusively for offshore fishing, with the robustness and optimal line capacity required for dealing with red sea bream and large bluefish. It is equipped with advanced technologies that only Daiwa can offer, including Daiwa's unique waterproof and durable technology "Mag Sealed" that maintains smooth rotation for a long time, the rigid "Super Metal Body", and the stable "UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag)". The torqueful winding effect of the large round knob made of EVA that can be firmly gripped makes this a tough reel that will not lose power even in a tough fight with large bluefish.

MAG SEALED
Daiwa's unique waterproof structure shuts out seawater and dust by creating a magnetic oil wall in the gap between the body and rotor. Since the body and rotor are non-contact, the initial rotation performance is maintained for a long time while maintaining light and smooth rotation. Most of the causes of abnormal rotation noise are salt and foreign matter. Except for cases where the reel is accidentally dropped in water, the occurrence rate of abnormal rotation noise in Magsealed reels is significantly reduced. Moreover, the rate is showing a larger difference as time passes. This means that the longer you use it, the more effective it becomes. In other words, it is proof that the dustproof and waterproof capabilities of Magseal are at a very high level.

Super metal body
Super Metal (aluminum alloy) provides extremely high rigidity compared to plastic bodies. The solid exterior prevents the body from warping even under heavy loads, and the internal gears stay in place, providing strong winding power and durability.

Air rotor
A rotor with a unique shape that can be called a rotor revolution. The unique shape and optimal rim structure distribute the load, achieving a significant weight reduction with the same strength as conventional rotors. The rotor balance has also been improved, resulting in a lighter rotation with good response.

UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag)
By impregnating the high-density felt washer with high-performance, high-durability oil, it eliminates the initial biting that occurs when the drag begins to work, and achieves a stable, smooth drag without sticking (unevenness) even when tightened. It combines precision and robustness to take the lead in fights with large fish.

Digi Gear II
Daiwa's unique digital design technology "Digigear" has evolved even further. In order to realize the ideal tooth surface derived from digital analysis, ultra-high precision machine cutting technology is used, achieving tooth surface precision several times higher than that of forged gears. Durability is improved by applying a special wrapping process to the drive gear and achieving the optimal balance between the pinion gear and drive gear.
DS4 (rotor material)
A fiber-reinforced special plastic made exclusively for reels using Daiwa's unique technology.
Aluminum spool
Lightweight and highly rigid metal spool.
Foldable aluminum machine cut handle
A highly rigid machine-cut handle that provides a stable winding feel. Foldable for easy portability.
ABS II
A spool structure that releases the line without any trouble and increases casting distance. The large diameter and reverse tapered winding surface make it harder for the line to be pushed out from the front of the spool, dramatically reducing backlash and other line troubles. The large diameter spool also contributes to improved winding speed and drag performance. ABS II has revised the spool ring shape to reduce resistance when casting, resulting in improved long-distance casting performance.
Cross wrap
By using a twill winding method with a large winding angle, the line is wound crosswise to prevent it from digging into the spool winding section or slipping off. This method significantly reduces line trouble, especially when using thin thread or PE line, and at the same time achieves a comfortable cast.
Air veil
The veil shape dramatically reduces tangling problems by sending the line smoothly to the line roller. Furthermore, the hollow structure significantly increases the strength without changing the weight.
Twist Buster II
By tapering the line roller and rolling the line, this structure has significantly eliminated the "line twist" that occurs when the roller rotates, which was said to be the fate of spinning reels.
Rotor brake
This mechanism brakes the rotor rotation when the bail is open, preventing the bail from accidentally flipping over due to the handle moving from the shock of casting.
