Born to fulfill the dreams of anglers, "SALTIGA."
Inheriting the strongest genes of DAIWA offshore, it continues to evolve with the latest technology. The premise is confronting unknown big fish. It challenges the limits of tackle, pursuing strength in every aspect and performance that becomes superior and easy to use. What Saltiga is tasked with is undoubtedly tackle that reliably approaches the dream fish. Continuously fulfilling its significance means fulfilling the dreams of anglers. Its performance of trust supports the dreams of anglers worldwide.
Inheriting and continuously innovating
To catch large fish, the balance of the rod, reel, and line is important.
In 2020, the Saltiga rod evolved further, with the lightweight jigging rod "R" series for offshore use and the "AP" series for targeting big fish making their debut with new blank technology. It's the next-generation rod from Daiwa that shows their serious commitment.
The SJ rod enters a new stage. A flagship slow jigging rod with outstanding agility.
Maintaining the lightweight and strong bending concept, the SJ rod significantly improves agility while reducing the angler's burden and achieving ultimate underwater sensitivity.
Maximizing blank performance and sensitivity with "AGS (R Frame)" and achieving resilience and high power with X45 Full Shield, combining lightweight, sensitivity, and power with SVF NanoPlus developed specifically for Saltiga SJ, and providing a grip feel that sticks to your hand with the "ZERO₋SEAT Active Hold Trigger" dedicated reel seat developed for the Saltiga SJ. It reaches a unified length of 6.1ft by pursuing the optimal balance between operability and jerk performance.
The unparalleled sensitivity that allows you to imagine the unseen underwater world, operability that allows you to manipulate jigs, strength that can confront large fish head-on, and comfort that supports various jerks. These are the performance requirements demanded in slow jigging, realized by Daiwa technology in the pinnacle slow jigging rod, SALTIGA SJ. It adopts high-resilience SVF NANOPLUS for the blank, wraps it in the armor of X45 Full Shield for high operability and strength in rod exterior. Lightweight and highly sensitive "AGS (R Frame)" guides are used, and a new type of ZERO₋SEAT is adopted for the reel seat to reduce fatigue. Including nuts and grip shapes, the rod parts are designed to be optimal for modern slow jigging.
All New SALTIGA SJ
Guides are now equipped with "AGS (R Frame)," reel seats feature the new ZERO₋SEAT Active Hold Trigger, and blanks have evolved significantly with SVF NanoPlus & X45 Full Shield, marking a complete overhaul. By collaborating with testers in clear waters and from various age groups, the ultimate slow jigging rod has been born.
Taper and Length
While maintaining the same 6.1ft length as the previous model, the effective length is extended by lowering the reel seat position. The taper has been re-examined to reduce the angler's burden and achieve high underwater sensitivity.
