Developed without compromise together with bait-jigging experts Kazunari Shimizu and Takahiro Konaka, the SALTIGA J REVLIMIT is built for absolute mastery of heavyweight jigs under the harshest conditions.

The goal:

One of the greatest challenges in jigging is controlling the mid-water layer. In high water resistance, double currents, and other harsh conditions, anglers often resort to heavier jigs or thinning the line to reduce drag. Even then, slow-jigging rods frequently fail to deliver the intended action.

Traditionally, achieving control in heavy conditions meant building rods short and extremely stiff — but this increases physical strain, reduces fine jig-input control, and becomes disadvantageous when fighting large fish near the boat.

To overcome this, Daiwa repeatedly tested and refined the ideal balance of length and taper.

The result: a groundbreaking 5.4 ft rod length, a high-resilience blank capable of driving heavy jigs precisely, and a taper engineered to significantly reduce angler fatigue.

DAIWA’s proprietary system analyzes and designs the blank’s “restorative energy”—the force generated when a bent blank returns to its original shape. By quantifying where performance excels or lacks and incorporating the “angler’s sensory expectations,” ESS enables rod designs that more precisely match real on-water demands.

Carbon-framed guides offering ~3× the rigidity of titanium. Their high sensitivity transmits even minute signals directly to the blank without absorption. Their light weight reduces total rod mass, especially at the tip, resulting in dramatically enhanced sensitivity.

■ X45 Full Shield (Cobra Shield)

A 45° carbon bias wrap applied from the tip section’s outermost layer — the area most prone to twist. It dramatically increases torsional rigidity, improving casting accuracy and allowing the rod to fully express its inherent performance during action, hooking, and fighting.
