"One day, that fish." The "SALTIGA" was created to fulfill the dreams of anglers. Inheriting the strongest offshore DNA from DAIWA, it continues to evolve with the latest technology. The premise is facing unknown big fish. Continually pushing the limits as a tackle, it pursues strength, ease of use, and performance advantages in every aspect. SALTIGA is tasked with being the tackle that surely brings you closer to your dream fish. Continuing to fulfill its purpose means fulfilling the dreams of anglers. Its trusted performance supports the dreams of anglers worldwide.
Casting Model with Enhanced Basic Performance through Latest Technology
The "BRAKE YOUR RECORD / SALTIGA C (Casting)" is a model that has polished the essential performance required for offshore casting rods: stable casting distance, lure operability, fish control during fights, and breaking strength. The source of this is, needless to say, the blank performance. The main material is high-strength, tough HVF Nanoplus, with the tip wrapped in X45 full shield to significantly enhance torsional rigidity. The comparatively weaker butt joint uses DAIWA's cutting-edge V-Joint α structure. By thoroughly examining the characteristics of each item based on these technologies, the SALTIGA C has achieved significant evolution, allowing you to catch that record-breaking fish.
DAIWA Technology
X45 Full Shield (X45 Cobra Shield)
X45 Full Shield is a structure where the torsion generated during casting, action, hooking, and fighting is tightly wrapped from the most susceptible tip of the blank with a 45° carbon bias cross on the outermost layer. This dramatically improved torsional rigidity, allowing for greater casting accuracy and the original performance of the rod to be fully utilized.
V-Joint α
By adopting high-strength material Nanolloy at the joint and leveraging DAIWA's unique precision processing technology, V-Joint α was created. It evolved V-Joint to be stronger, lighter, and have a smoother bend. In fishing that involves repeated casting, thinning the joint allows the entire blank to be finished slenderly, improving swing ease and operability.
HVF Nanoplus
High-density HVF carbon, which reduces resin content and increases carbon fiber density, is an ideal material for rods emphasizing toughness and strength. Combining Toray's Nanolloy technology with DAIWA's unique manufacturing method enables further strength and weight reduction.

71-2 | A technical rod ideal for targeting Spanish mackerel, mahi-mahi, and bonito with fast retrieval of heavy sinking minnows, twitching poppers and jerkbaits, and skipping with sinking pens. The short length of 7.1ft makes it easy to handle from casting to landing in the middle of a small charter boat or party boat. |
84-2.5 | Designed for Spanish mackerel and bonito using PE line #1.5-2 and heavy sinking minnows around 40g. The 8.4ft length is perfect for overhead casts to reach surface feeding fish. It balances well for long casts even with small lures, making it valuable when normal-sized lures are challenging. |
83-3 | This model excels in casting and operability with relatively small plugs around 140mm. It performs well for selective amberjack and yellowtail, long casting with heavy sinking minnows for Spanish mackerel, and targeting bonito with high-density jigs, suitable for a wide range of light offshore games. |
82-4 | A multi-casting model for targeting amberjack and yellowtail with plugs around 150-170mm. The lightweight blank and flexible tip make long casting and plug operation comfortable, ideal for both overhead and underhand casts. |
83-4/6 SP | This model features a flexible tip similar to the #4 model for casting and operating small pencils (120-130mm), with a strong butt comparable to #6 power (PE line #6). It's perfect for targeting large amberjack with small plugs and can handle plugs up to 190mm due to its strong butt. |
75-5 | A short length model ideal for underhand casting on party boats or small boats targeting amberjack and yellowfin tuna. It’s a versatile rod for crowded boat casting games and can quickly respond to sudden surface feeding fish around the boat. |
81-5 | Suitable for plugs around 170-190mm and PE line #5, this model targets amberjack and yellowfin tuna. The blank's balance makes it fatigue-free for anglers with less strength, including women, supporting both overhead and underhand casts—a versatile model to take anywhere. |
83-6 | A standard model for large amberjack and yellowfin tuna in Kyushu, focusing on plugs around 180-200mm and PE line #6. The blank’s balance ensures stable casting, plug operability, and support from fight to landing, adhering to the basics of casting rods. |
710-8 | A high-power rod for targeting large amberjack in Kyushu or GT on remote islands with PE line #8. It’s designed to distribute load across the blank, making it easier for anglers to manage and recommended for both experienced anglers and those new to targeting large fish. |
85-8 | A long cast model for large amberjack and GT on remote islands with PE line #8. It excels in casting distance, crucial for competitive fishing. It allows for accurate lure control from high platforms and performs well in tough conditions with strong winds and high waves. |
79-10 | A long-distance tuna model designed for extensive range casting. It’s ideal for targeting surface feeding fish quickly and covering a wide area. The flexible tip works well with small to large plugs, and the blank is built to endure high loads, making it perfect for those aiming to catch large tuna. |
73-12 | The strongest model in the series, designed to break your personal record. The 7.3ft length offers a significant advantage in lure operation and reducing body strain during long fights. It’s the go-to rod for targeting massive tuna, with a blank that withstands high loads, allowing for robust fighting against dream-sized tuna. |
