DAIWA Presso MX 62L
Overview
Fishing is becoming more stylish than ever.
To master area trout fishing, you need strategies and techniques distinct from those used in natural fields—along with dedicated tackle. Developed as a specialized gear series for area fishing, “PRESSO” derives its name from Italian.
At the core of PRESSO’s development lies one concept: how to fish smart, how to fish cool. Its design embodies an aesthetic that values even the style of fishing itself. The moment you set up the tackle, it delivers a strong sense of identity that flips your internal switch. As the product evolves, it proposes new styles of fishing—you become the movement simply by holding it.
PRESSO MX — A next-generation standard rod exceeding its class
Featuring a carbon monocoque rear grip and fully supervised by Hiroki Wada.
PRESSO MX, the high-performance rod series at the core of PRESSO, is here. Its lineup covers the full spectrum of modern area trout fishing and offers specifications far beyond its class.
The first-ever adoption of a carbon monocoque rear grip delivers both heightened sensitivity and superb handling.
Rod actions were overseen by Daiwa staff member Hiroki Wada, fine-tuned from the PRESSO LTD AGS base to create a taper anyone can handle comfortably.
Casting ease, lure control, and landing performance are all refined to a high level—essential actions in area trout fishing.
The result is truly class-defying performance, suitable for everyone from tournament anglers to casual enthusiasts.

Daiwa Technologies
X45

Through years of research, Daiwa concluded that adding ±45° bias-cross carbon to the conventional 0°/90° structure provides optimal anti-twist performance.
X45 dramatically improves power, operability, and sensitivity by suppressing blank twist during casting, retrieving, hook-setting, and fighting.
AIR SENSOR SEAT

A reel seat reinforced with carbon fiber, achieving lighter weight, higher strength, and higher sensitivity.
Designed specifically for each rod type, it offers operability unattainable with generic reel seats.
V-JOINT

Bias-structured carbon sheet is used at the joint section, producing a smooth bend similar to a one-piece rod.
Compared to non-equipped rods, it greatly enhances power, rebound speed, and overall taper performance.
HVF Carbon

Daiwa focused not only on using higher-modulus carbon fibers but also on reducing excess resin—the "unnecessary fat"—that binds the fibers.
By increasing carbon fiber density and reducing resin, HVF Carbon becomes more muscular and powerful, ideal for rods requiring strength and resilience.
MEGA TOP (62L-S only)

A carbon solid tip in which fibers and resin disperse evenly, allowing uniform bending in all directions.
This significantly increases strength compared to standard carbon solid tips, enabling thin, flexible, high-taper designs with excellent tactile and visual sensitivity for detecting bites.
