DAIWA Morethan Wisemen 113M/MH Wind Storm

Overview

"Commitment in Shape. A Partner That Can Be Used for a Long Time.
morethan "WISEMEN"

The "morethan WISEMEN" seabass rod series is designed for those who value craftsmanship and longevity. Now, the series embarks on a new journey as a rod for Hirasuzuki (Japanese sea bass) fishing. The lineup includes the T150M-5 "Taira Kyo," designed to conquer swells, the AGS 130M-4 ROCK DANCE CUSTOM F, suited for long-wave conditions, and the newly added 109M for precise pinpoint shooting, as well as the 113M/MH, featuring a liner cast perfect for cutting through northwest winds. These slender, sharp blanks, filled with Daiwa's technology, surround the Hirasuzuki lurking beneath the rough seas.

Morethan Wisemen 113M/MH:

Armed with 3DX, the high-rebound slim blank slices through fierce headwinds, delivering minnows with pinpoint accuracy like a bullet. The target is trophy-sized Hirasuzuki (Japanese seabass), and the robust butt section allows the angler to swiftly lift large fish from the depths.

Daiwa Technology:

Expert Sense Simulation [ESS]

When a rod bends, energy (restoring force) arises in the opposite direction. This "strain energy" generated from the deformation of the blank is a crucial factor in determining a rod's performance. DAIWA developed its own system to analyze and design this strain energy, allowing for a clear numerical understanding of where the rod excels or lacks. This system also incorporates the angler’s sensitivity into the design, bringing the rod closer to what anglers seek.

AGS (Air Guide System)

AGS, which achieves both lightweight and high sensitivity, uses a carbon frame. Compared to titanium, carbon boasts about three times the rigidity, allowing signals transmitted through the line to be relayed directly to the blank without being absorbed, offering exceptional sensitivity. The lightness of carbon also improves swing speed, quickly stabilizes the tip, and significantly enhances casting distance and control.
(Available only on AGS 130M-4)

SVF COMPILE-X Nano Plus

The blank is ultra-muscular, composed of densely packed graphite fibers with significantly reduced resin. Its high rigidity and tension contribute to high sensitivity, offering the angler a clear feel of the underwater environment. The reduced resin also means lighter and more powerful rods, enabling the creation of lighter rods with the same power or thinner rods with the same strength and lightness. This blank, essential for fishing requiring instantaneous reaction to bites, provides sharp sensitivity and powerful butt strength. Thanks to its slim profile, it allows easy swing-through and accurate casting, and its lightness enables continuous casting throughout the day. This high-performance blank has further evolved with Nano Plus technology.

V-JOINT α

Using high-strength nano-alloy materials in the joint section and leveraging DAIWA’s precision processing technology, the V-JOINT α has been created. It evolves from the V-JOINT to be even stronger, lighter, and provide smoother bending. In fishing where repeated casting is essential, a thinner joint section improves the overall slenderness of the blank, enhancing swing-through and operability.

X45

To prevent twisting during casting, action, hooking, and fighting, research concluded that wrapping bias cross carbon fibers at a 45° angle (±45° to the rod’s axis) is optimal. By adopting the X45 structure, twisting is minimized, significantly improving power, operability, and sensitivity.

3DX

3DX focuses on restoring force, applying a honeycomb structure with excellent stability and resilience around the blank’s outer surface to enhance its shape-restoring capability. The stronger the force that returns the rod to its original circular shape, the higher its restoring power. This helps reduce tip deflection, improve casting stability, and enhance distance.
(Available only on T150M-5 and 113M/MH)

V-JOINT

By applying a bias structure carbon sheet to the rod’s joint, it achieves a beautifully smooth curve, akin to that of a one-piece rod. Compared to models without this feature, it significantly improves power, stiffness, and recovery speed after bending, resulting in an ideal action.
(Available only on T150M-5)

X45 Full Shield (also known as X45 Cobra Shield)

This structure strengthens the blank by wrapping the outermost layer of the rod tip in a 45° carbon bias cross, where twisting is most likely to occur. This dramatically increases twist rigidity, allowing for enhanced casting accuracy and enabling the rod to fully unleash its potential.
(Available only on 109M and 113M/MH)

AIR SENSOR SEAT

The air sensor seat, made with carbon fiber, achieves lightweight, high strength, and high sensitivity. It’s specially designed according to the rod’s purpose, providing unmatched operability not available with generic reel seats.
(Available only on 109M, 113M/MH, and AGS 130M-4)

CWS (Carbon Wrapping System)

DAIWA's unique technique using carbon cross wraps to secure guides and reel seats to the blank. Instead of thread, tightly woven carbon cross is used to secure parts, reducing weight at the attachment points, while also improving retention force (twist rigidity at the guide attachment) and durability (crack resistance).
(Available only on AGS 130M-4)"

Product Details (109M and 113M/MH only):

■ Slim Blank with Specialized Design

The slender blank is designed to minimize the impact of wind from any direction. The design approach varies greatly depending on the fishing location and technique. Some rods are tailored for casting and lure control at mid-range distances, while others are built for long casts that can cut through strong headwinds, each with a distinct personality.

■ Attention to Part Shape and Weight Balance

In Hirasuzuki fishing, where casting is critical, every detail of the part shapes and weight balance has been meticulously refined. This improves the swing-through during casting and enhances lure operation performance. A key feature is the EVA grip on the rod butt. The shape has been carefully analyzed to naturally hook onto the angler’s fingers, improving usability during casting.

■ All-Titanium Guides

With portability in mind for long fishing trips, the rod is equipped with titanium SiC guides. The butt section features small RV guides, which significantly improve both rod balance and line release performance.
