Overview

Enjoy Your Time on the Boat. Catch with Passion.

Kyouga is a comprehensive brand targeting swordfish (tachiuo). The uniquely silver body, sharp teeth reminiscent of a sword, and mysterious nature make the tachiuo stand out from any other fish. Under the concept of thoroughly enjoying the allure of tachiuo, these products have been rigorously field-tested. The logo is inspired by the sharp, pointed teeth characteristic of tachiuo. As a target for offshore jigging across Japan, the selection of tackle can be broad and versatile, but using dedicated tackle allows for stress-free, all-day fishing concentration. It unveils a world previously unseen. These are dedicated tachiuo jigging rods that shine with the individuality of each item. Developed for tachiuo jigging, the Kyouga series represents a high standard model. The guide features the lightweight, highly sensitive 'AGS,' and the blank employs the optimal X45 structure to prevent twisting. The MT models have high-sensitivity metal tops, and HVF Nanoplus combines lightweight and power. The popular Mega Top core material thrill game (TG only) and the ideal bat joint structure offer exceptional performance. These rods pursue the optimal action for tachiuo jigging, with versatility that accommodates jig weights, depths, and tachiuo sizes.

Daiwa Technology:

AGS The Air Guide System (AGS), which uses carbon frames, achieves lightweight and high sensitivity. Carbon has approximately three times the rigidity of titanium, ensuring high sensitivity by directly transmitting even the smallest signals through the line to the blank. Additionally, the lightness of carbon contributes to the overall reduction in rod weight, particularly at the tip, further enhancing sensitivity.

Metal Top The Metal Top features a superelastic titanium alloy tip, providing the unique ultra-high sensitivity of metallic materials. This high sensitivity covers vibration ranges (bites and nibbles) that carbon cannot detect.

X45 To prevent twisting during casting, action, hooking, and fighting, long-term research concluded that adding a ±45° bias cross (carbon fibers slanted at ±45°) to the conventional 0° and 90° structure was optimal. X45 prevents twisting, dramatically enhancing power, operability, and sensitivity.

MEGA TOP Mega Top is a carbon solid with uniformly dispersed fibers and resin, bending equally in all directions. This results in significantly improved strength compared to standard carbon solid tips. This allows for the creation of thin, flexible, high-taper tips that offer excellent tactile and visual sensitivity.

HVF NANOPLUS High-density HVF carbon, which reduces resin content and increases carbon fiber density, is an ideal material for rods emphasizing resilience and strength. Combining Toray's Nanoalloy technology with Daiwa's unique manufacturing methods achieves even higher strength and lighter weight.

Product Details

Pursuing Optimal Performance for Tachiuo Jigging This lineup aims for the best performance in tachiuo jigging, providing actions that can only be achieved with dedicated rods, while boasting versatility that handles any jig weight, depth, or tachiuo size. It meets the high demands of modern tachiuo jigging.

Varied Lineup Includes the popular thrill game model, which is flexible and prevents the jig from behaving erratically. The Metal Top model can detect short bites and facilitate hooking, and the short tubular model (around 5ft) offers excellent maneuverability and lightness. Each of these three lineups has a unique personality.

Design Combining Kyouga’s Uniqueness and Luxury Using Kyouga’s iconic purple, these rods are sure to catch the eye on the boat. Key points feature color streams (Majora-style colors), creating a luxurious feel. These cosmetics satisfy the angler's desire for ownership.

*Precautions for Using Metal Tops

Temperature Changes of the Metal Top

Due to the properties of superelastic titanium alloy, the elasticity decreases in environments below 5°C, causing the tip to return more slowly. This may result in noticeable bends due to extreme cold during early morning or nighttime, or the influence of wind. Additionally, in environments below 0°C, the decreased elasticity may cause the tip to remain bent. In any case, once the temperature rises, the original superelasticity will return, and normal use will be possible.

Avoid Excessive Bending

While the metal top can be comfortably used under normal operations, excessive bending caused by external factors such as line tangling or wrapping the tip may leave permanent bends (plastic deformation) or cause breakage due to metal fatigue.

Correcting Bends

If a bend occurs, it can be corrected by gently bending it in the opposite direction of the bend. However, repeatedly correcting bends can lead to metal fatigue, so it is advised to avoid operations that might leave bends, such as wrapping the line around the tip.

To ensure comfortable use, please read the instruction manual thoroughly.
