DAIWA Interline Oshima Flame Hawk 3-52 Ento
Overview
Daiwa's interline rods serves as the new driving force behind the latest fishing techniques.
Daiwa introduced its first interline (through-handle) shore fishing rod in the late 1990s. The power of the interline quickly sparked a major boom in shore fishing due to its minimal line tangle at the tip, resistance to becoming sticky even when splashed with waves, and stable performance even in strong winds, all thanks to the absence of guides. The evolution of interline technology did not stop there. Daiwa's proprietary techniques, such as the ultra-water-repellent Dry processing focused on the internal surface of the blank and the HyperDry processing combining Fujiyama linear interline structure to reduce the area where lines are installed, transformed interline rods from being merely secondary options for bad weather conditions to versatile, all-weather rods. While interline technology reached a certain level of maturity, significant advancements continued with the development of lightweight, highly elastic carbon materials and joint structures that bend more strongly and flexibly. The "Interline Oshima Flame Hawk" represents the first step in Daiwa's journey to combine its expertise in interline technology with cutting-edge materials and actions, ushering in a new era of interline rods.
The next-generation Interline rod with a new concept design.
When you first pick up [the rod], you will be amazed by the slimness of its blank. This slender design is the core of the new Interline Oshima Flame Hawk.
In recent years, situations where fish are becoming more selective and only bite on thin rigs are increasingly common. As a result, for surf rods, a flexible rod that bends all the way to the base is required to absorb the fish's pulls.
The concept revolves around the next-generation high-spec interline model with a slim and thick design. By significantly slimming down compared to conventional interlines, the rod bends more flexibly overall, evolving into a mid-section action that prevents fish from thrashing and allows for smoother captures.
Interline rods, which benefit from the absence of guide points, have long been known for their smooth bending and blank performance, with a reputation for "absorbing and taming" performance. Now, with advancements in parts design and rod manufacturing technology, the Interline Oshima Flame Hawk has been slimmed down even further, enhancing its "absorbing and taming" performance without thinning the blank. A new "bend and catch" style of Interline rod has been born.
Concerns about tip and body flex have been minimized by introducing higher elasticity materials than ever before for the body of the rod.
The slim blank also greatly contributes to improved wind cutting performance. Even in strong winds, it swings smoothly, allowing for highly accurate casting.
The next-generation Interline Oshima Flame Hawk has achieved sharp operability and smooth bending.
Also Daiwa's proprietary ultra-water-repellent DRY treatment, prevents line sticking and tangles caused by rain, wind, or spray, enabling smooth casting of light rigs like small floats without stress. The original screw-type seat reduces reel wobble, ensuring comfortable fishing all day long.
But the most distinctive feature of the interline, threading the line through the blank's interior :
models 1号 ~ 1.75号 :
The flexible design of the #1 section and the effectiveness of the ultra-water-repellent DRY treatment enable stress-free actions such as flipping the line out and casting light rigs. Once hooked, the slim design allows for smooth bending to lift the fish.
model 2.53HR :
The HR (Mainstream) model is ideal for bringing in large fish from the main currents of blue water and offshore islands with the power of a 2nd class rod. Its unique interline design allows the entire blank to absorb the force of the line, providing a sensation of power after hooking a fish that conventional guide rods cannot match.
models 3.52Entō ~ 4.52Entō :
The HVF Nano Plus construction provides the rod with the lightness needed for comfortable handling all day long, while also delivering the stiffness required to accurately target bait-filled cages at offshore currents. Even during night fishing, anglers can maintain a steady rhythm without worrying about line troubles. Equipped with large-diameter SiC top rings for long-distance casting, the rod ensures secure placement of large floats and enables smooth casting without slippage.
Next-generation slim blanks (for the float fishing model only) :
The significant slimming down from conventional IL rods reduces air resistance during casting and manipulation. At the same time, the slimmer profile naturally allows the rod to bend more fully into the midsection, creating a user-friendly mid-flex action.
"Air Sensor Seat (Oval) :
The reel seat features an Air Sensor Seat (Oval) to securely hold the reel in place. The series also maintains the user-friendly and non-slip EVA foregrip and end grip.
*(Only available in the Float Fishing model)
*(HR/Casting model equipped with original screw seat.)
