DAIWA 24 IM Z TW 200HL-C
Overview
The next-generation baitcasting reel series IM Z features expandability through updates to the reel body through the DAIWA connecting system. The new 200 series has been released.
The aim of the spool development for the 200 series was to incorporate all the characteristics of the DAIWA MAGFORCE brake system. The spool characteristics were verified with the image of not only the LC concept but also the SV concept, and even the ultra-long-distance casting style when using PE line. Specifically, in addition to adjusting the weight balance of the spool unit when the line is wound, a new shape for the inductor rotor was developed.
As a result of the significant differentiation from the direction of ultra-long-distance casting performance aimed for with the LIMITBREAKER-equipped spool, it has a wide range of lure compatibility from around 10g to 110g (4oz), and has easy-to-use and stable casting performance despite the large diameter φ38mm spool.
The first gear ratio of 7.3 (87cm per handle rotation) in the IM Z series is available. The new high-grip I-shape power large knob (S) is adopted for the first time on the 90mm aluminum handle for reeling fishing. Its high basic performance is fully equipped with "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN", "TWS", "DAIWA CONNECTING-SYSTEM" and "INTELLIGENT MAGFORCE".
It is possible to challenge monster fish without flinching, regardless of freshwater or saltwater or fish species.
The 200-C series also supports the DAIWA CONNECTING-SYSTEM.
In addition to the four basic brake modes, if you earn the badges of "5 fishing trips achieved" and "total casting distance achieved 10.0 km" (if you meet the installation conditions), you will be able to use "PE Long Cast", which started distribution on October 30, 2023.
In addition, the 200-C is highly suitable for bass fishing, and in this type of fishing that requires a lot of casting, there are high expectations for the collection and accumulation of more useful data for anglers to analyze themselves.
*Salt compatible
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
The next-generation design concept for bait (double-axis) reels, which significantly improves the standard of all basic performance with the aim of maintaining high initial performance for a long time. The Hyper Drive Design is composed of up to four technologies. Hyper Double Support, which requires the Hyper Drive Digigear to maintain smooth rotation for a long time and assists the gear drive to provide strong and light winding. Hyper Armed Housing, which strongly supports the internal structure and is resistant to bending and distortion. Hyper Tough Clutch with an insulating structure that continues to operate even in harsh locations and drastically reduces adhesion due to salt. The synergistic effect of these technologies continues to provide stable performance in any field.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA's unique technology that achieves an increased meshing rate without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth, which directly affects durability, allowing the initial smoothness to be maintained for a long time.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that achieves sustained smoothness and strong, light winding. Both ends of the pinion gear are supported with two ball bearings with high precision, allowing for strong, light winding even under load without attenuating the input from the handle.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
A housing system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, producing a precise winding feel and power. The frame, which is the key component, is made of metal, and when combined with the side plate and set plate, it makes it possible to maintain basic performance for an even longer period of time.
In this series, the frame, gear side plate (handle side), and dial side set plate are all die-cast with aluminum alloy and finished with high-precision machine cutting to provide unwavering rigidity.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does this clutch system have crisp on/off performance that continues to slide thousands or tens of thousands of times, but it also has extremely few problems even in highly saline seawater. This cutting-edge insulation structure has already reduced the number of repairs due to sticking in harsh saltwater environments by 99% compared to our previous model.
TWS (T-WING SYSTEM)
TWS has succeeded in significantly reducing the resistance of the line guide close to the spool, where the spool rotation speed is the highest. By reducing the resistance to the casting distance, not only is the casting distance and controllability improved, but the fall is also faster and backlash is reduced. This has realized the possibility of a new level wind not only when winding, but also when casting.
ATD
The ATD operates smoothly and continues to work smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. It pursues smooth start and tracking, allowing you to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.
Zero Adjuster
First, adjust the "zero adjuster" and set the "zero spool rattle". Thanks to the evolution of the magnetic brake, it is now possible to control all lures with just the mag dial.
The "zero adjuster" is a mechanism that allows you to enjoy fishing comfortably without malfunctions while fishing by adjusting it to the "zero setting" before starting fishing.
*The "zero spool rattle" setting is the setting that does not push the spool while leaving a slight rattle (about 0.2 mm).
ZERO SHAFT
The spool is only supported by the bottom bracket. The shaftless design eliminates excess resistance and provides ideal spool rotation.
In other words, it is the key to a high-output engine that prioritizes casting performance.
IM Concept
A digitally controlled brake that allows you to select the brake "force" and "characteristics."
A brake that detects the spool rotation and is digitally controlled. In addition to adjusting the brake "force," you can also select brake "characteristics" such as PE mode or long-distance casting mode. You can set the optimal brake according to the situation, the lure used, and the angler's skill and physical strength.
A brake system that detects spool rotation and digitally controls the brake force for each mode.
By simply operating the control switch installed on the outside of the side plate, you can instantly switch to completely different brake characteristics.
Not only can you get a mode that excels in long-distance casting performance, but you can also get versatile performance that shows adaptability to headwinds and lures with high air resistance, and can handle a wide range of lures, so you can bring out a variety of casting performance with just one unit without changing the spool. This is the charm and greatest advantage of the IM concept.
Not only that, but you can add and set new brake modes by updating the reel body through the DAIWA app. This is the moment when the reel performance itself grows.
In addition, there is a 200 spool and a LIMITBREAKER spool that support spool replacement. As with the spool customization supported by conventional models, you can achieve different casting feels according to the spool characteristics, further expanding the range of fun of casting.
Only one brake mode is available at the time of purchase (factory shipment)

The aim was to "go as far as you can!"
Bait casting with PE line is difficult for everyone, isn't it? Just when you start to get used to it, the line suddenly floats up, causing a backlash and making it impossible to recover... After that, you become scared and can't cast at full power. This time, we have developed a brake mode that can solve the problems you are having.
Thumming is also effective, but you don't want to apply excessive brakes, and you have to operate it with a delicate spoonful, so it is not stable and the results are inconsistent. Considering the current harsh field conditions, casting mistakes = reduced catches. Therefore, it is very important to improve the accuracy of your cast. The strength of the PE long cast mode is that it properly processes the timing when the line does not float up from the spool with digital control, and then reduces the braking force "as much as possible". As a result, you can extend the casting distance to the limit while suppressing troubles. You can bend the rod firmly without fear! Let's enjoy bait casting more and more!

Frightening potential. Stable flight posture of jointed bait!
I want you to try casting a jointed type big bait with a spinning tackle. You will be shocked by the "sensation" of it not flying at all as much as you would expect and landing right in front of you.
When developing the big bait mode, I felt that the line tension during casting was important again. In the prototype brake mode that I cast first, the line was prone to slack, and I honestly felt that "to be honest, that's how it is." So, when I requested that the line slack be reduced immediately after casting, the brake control was immediately adjusted on the PC, and the big bait with that unstable flight posture was sent out smoothly. This leads to the story at the beginning, and I was convinced that "excess line slack causes the line tension to be released, causing the flight posture to collapse, and as a result, it does not fly." After repeated adjustments, I was able to set the control to continue to pull the lure slightly during casting. This is exactly the advantage of bait tackle. Overcoming the issue of this flight posture also increased the flight distance as a by-product. Of course. In addition, it also prevents the line from getting tangled on the hook when it hits the water, and has a brake mode that is essential for making that decisive shot.

G1 duralumin spool
G1 duralumin is a special aluminum alloy that is twice as strong as magnesium and 1.3 times as strong as extra-super duralumin. This ultra-lightweight material with excellent rigidity is the highest grade of lightweight alloy, also used in aircraft structural materials and precision instruments. To maintain the same strength, it is possible to maintain sufficient strength by simply thinning the spool's winding surface without blanking, in order to achieve an overwhelmingly lightweight feel. The high rotation response brought about by the lightness and the unparalleled precision of rotation due to the high rigidity are unmatched.
Drag pull click
In pursuit of high drag performance to catch big fish, we aimed to be the best in its class not only in terms of maximum drag but also in terms of smooth operation that follows the pull of the fish.
It also comes equipped with a drag pull click. It provides a big advantage to anglers by sounding the line system's last-minute attack and defense against a sudden charge by a fish.
Perfect Double Stopper
In addition to the normal stopper, it is equipped with a mechanical stopper.
It is highly durable, and in the unlikely event that the infinite stopper fails, another mechanical stopper will activate to prevent reverse rotation. This is a safety feature.
