DAIWA 24 Kohga IC 200L
Overview
This model was created based on the opinions of a charismatic tester who runs a deep sea bream fishing boat.
The drag and winding performance are particularly noteworthy. Equipped with ATD, synchro level wind, and "electronic drag sound", it achieves smooth and reliable drag performance even with thin lines. In addition, the drag force adjustment range (0.5kg~4.0kg) has been expanded, allowing for more precise adjustment. Because it is a sea bream fishing rod that uses thin lines, these features reduce the risk of getting away and support anglers.
The basic performance has been refined with "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN", achieving high winding performance even under high load. In addition, it adopts a 150mm aluminum crank handle that eliminates the winding weight of deep sea bream fishing, making it easy to continue fishing all day long.
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
The next-generation design concept for baitcasting (double-axis reels) that significantly improves the standard of all basic performance with the aim of maintaining high initial performance for a long time. Hyper Drive Design is composed of up to four technologies. Hyper Double Support, which requires the Hyper Drive Digigear to maintain smooth rotation for a long time and assists the gear drive to provide strong and light winding. Hyper Arm Housing strongly supports the internal structure and is resistant to bending and distortion. Hyper Tough Clutch with an insulating structure that continues to operate even in harsh locations and drastically reduces adhesion due to salt. The synergistic effect of these features ensures stable performance in any field.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system for baitcasting (double-axis reels) that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. It is DAIWA's unique technology that achieves long-lasting initial smoothness by increasing the meshing rate without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth, which is directly related to durability.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that achieves sustained smoothness and strong, light winding. By supporting both ends of the pinion gear with two ball bearings with high precision, it is possible to wind up powerfully and lightly even when a load is applied without attenuating the input from the handle.
HYPER ARMED HOUSING
A housing system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, producing a precise winding feel and power. It is necessary to use metal materials for the frame, which is the key, and by combining it with side plates and set plates, it is possible to continue to demonstrate basic performance for even longer.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does it have a sharp on/off performance that continues to slide thousands or tens of thousands of times, but it also has a clutch system that is extremely trouble-free even in seawater with high salinity concentrations. It is a cutting-edge insulation structure that has already reduced the number of fixation repairs in harsh salt scenes by 99% compared to our previous products.
ATD
The ATD operates smoothly in response to the pull of the fish and continues to work smoothly. Pursuing slippage and tracking, it is now possible to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.
In addition, the Kouga IC200 has an expanded drag adjustment range of around 0.5kg to 4.0kg, which is the practical operating range, assuming use with sea bream. Fine drag adjustment is now possible, which helps anglers reduce the number of fish that get away.
Synchro level wind
Synchro level wind is a mechanism where the level wind synchronizes with the line position and follows it left and right when releasing the line. The biggest advantage is that there is less resistance when releasing the line. It also improves the smoothness of the drag operation.
Electronic Drag Sound
A function that detects spool rotation and communicates drag operation with an "electronic sound."
The conventional pull-out click (mechanical structure) plays an important role in communicating drag operation to the angler. However, the ratchet structure inside the drive gear and the sound-producing pin structure that produce the sound create physical resistance.
By removing this mechanical structure and installing the "electronic drag sound," it is now possible to achieve both smooth drag performance and a drag sound that is easier to hear.
Comparison of resistance when pulling out the drag
The graph above compares the "resistance" when pulling out the drag. The Kouga IC200 has significantly reduced this "resistance", resulting in a smoother, high-performance drag. The synergistic effect of the drag with an expanded adjustment range allows for safe handling even when using thin lines.
