DAIWA 23 Saltist TW 300XH PE Special
Overview
The SALTIST TW PE SP is designed for trouble-free use by specializing in PE bait casting in salt water.
Even anglers who have been reluctant to use PE line with baitcasting reels can now cast it with confidence. This is made possible by the "TWS" with extremely high line release and the "PE-only spool" with a PE-only setting that greatly improves the line winding condition.
Furthermore, the basic performance has been refined with the "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN" to handle a wide range of saltwater scenes.
Available in BF/80/100/150/300/400 sizes, it can handle a wider range of fish species in the saltwater. The new standard for SW baitcasting reels for users who want to enjoy PE baitcasting and those who want PE compatibility.
HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
The next-generation design concept for bait (double-axis) reels, which significantly improves the standard of all basic performance with the aim of maintaining high initial performance for a long time. The Hyper Drive Design is composed of up to four technologies. Hyper Double Support, which requires the Hyper Drive Digigear to maintain smooth rotation for a long time and assists the gear drive to provide strong and light winding. Hyper Armed Housing, which strongly supports the internal structure and is less likely to bend or distort. Hyper Tough Clutch with an insulating structure that continues to operate even in harsh locations and drastically reduces adhesion due to salt. The synergistic effect of these technologies continues to provide stable performance in any field.
HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA's unique technology that achieves an increased meshing rate without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth, which directly affects durability, allowing the initial smoothness to be maintained for a long time.
HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that achieves sustained smoothness and strong, light winding. Both ends of the pinion gear are supported with two ball bearings with high precision, which makes it possible to wind up powerfully and lightly even when under load without attenuating the input from the handle.
*Only for 300 and 400
HYPER ARMED HOUSING (AL)
A housing system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, producing a precise winding feel and power. The frame, which is the key component, must be made of metal, and when combined with a side plate and set plate, it allows the basic performance to continue for an even longer period of time.
This series uses aluminum alloy for the frame and gear side plate, achieving a tough housing specification.
HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does this clutch system have crisp on/off performance that continues to slide thousands or tens of thousands of times, but it also has extremely few problems even in saltwater with high salinity. This cutting-edge insulation structure has already reduced the number of repairs due to sticking in harsh saltwater environments by 99% compared to our previous model.
TWS (T-WING SYSTEM)
TWS has succeeded in significantly reducing the resistance of the line guide close to the spool, where the spool rotation speed is the highest. By reducing the resistance to the casting distance, not only is the casting distance and controllability improved, but the fall is also faster and backlash is reduced. This has realized the possibility of a new level wind not only when winding, but also when casting.
SV-Concept
Super versatile concept
Realizes trouble-free fishing in any situation and with any lure. A super versatile brake concept that can handle all lures, from light to heavy, at any distance, from close to medium to long distances. It also has a wide range of rods and lures that can be combined, making it suitable for lure fishing for many species of fish, both in saltwater and freshwater.
*SV80 only
BF-Concept
Easy setting allows you to cast even "ultra" lightweight lures
Perfect for ultra-lightweight lures. If you pitch and swing the rod sharply, the lure will fly with a low trajectory, and even with normal casting, you can achieve a distance that is comparable to that of a spinning reel. Another great feature of the "Daiwa BF" is that you can alternate between pitching and casting without readjusting the brake force.
*BF only
LC-Concept
Long-distance casting performance and a refreshing cast feel
A brake concept with excellent long-distance casting performance that achieves an extension in the latter half of the cast. It is especially well-suited for medium and heavy lures, and the sharper you swing the rod, the longer the casting distance will be. The sporty and refreshing cast feel is also a major attraction of the LC concept.
*Only 100, 150, 300, and 400
MAGFORCE Z
Variable inductor rotor that creates "an extra stretch" in the latter half of the cast
Magforce Z is a variable structure in which the inductor rotor slides according to the rotation speed of the spool and the resulting centrifugal force, which is strong and weak. In the first half of the cast, when the rotation speed increases, the inductor rotor penetrates deep into the magnetic field, generating a strong braking force and avoiding backlash. In the second half of the cast, when the rotation speed decreases, the inductor rotor returns to its original position (exits the magnetic field) as the centrifugal force weakens, and the braking force weakens, resulting in increased casting distance.
*Only 100, 150, and 300
MAGFORCE
The fixed inductor rotor is the origin of DAIWA's perfected non-contact electromagnetic induction brakes
MAGFORCE is the simplest structure among the non-contact electromagnetic induction brakes that DAIWA has been developing since 1982. This brake system utilizes the law of electromagnetic induction, where eddy currents are generated when the inductor rotor rotates in a magnetic field, and a force acts in the opposite direction to the rotation. The inductor rotor is fixed, and the brake force adjusted by the dial is always stable and effective. It is installed on some reels where this is an advantage.
*Only 400
ATD
The ATD operates smoothly and continues to work smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. It pursues smooth start and tracking, allowing you to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.
*Only 100, 150, 300, and 400
UTD (Ultimate Tournament Drag)
This is a DAIWA drag system that eliminates the initial bite when the drag starts to work, achieving a smooth drag without stickiness (unevenness), while also providing maximum drag power the more you tighten it.
*Only for BF and SV80
PE-only spool
Line trouble with bait reels comes with the risk of high breakage. One of the causes of this trouble is the state of the line winding. With a normal spool shape, there is a step on both ends of the spool, making line release unstable. The SALTIST series' PE-only spool uses a new spool shape that assumes the use of PE. The curved parts of the bottom and sides of the spool are almost vertical, greatly improving the state of the line winding. This has realized a trouble-free spool that has never been seen before.
*PE-only spool: Since the setting is perfected with PE lines, nylon and fluoro lines, which have a large stretch of the line and damage the strength of the spool, cannot be used.
*The vertical shape of the bottom and sides of the spool is not adopted for the 400 size because it is assumed to be used with thick lines and under higher loads. (The 400 size is also a PE-only spool)
High-speed level wind
The trouble that occurs when the line is wound loosely is particularly noticeable when using PE line.
High-speed level wind dramatically reduces such trouble.
As a result, the trouble of the upper thread digging into the lower thread at the winding surface is greatly reduced, resulting in comfortable fishing performance.
Drag pull click
When the line is pulled out during a fight with a fish, a click sounds so that the drag can be determined by the sound.
When fighting with line tension at its limit, being able to determine the drag operation by sound is a great advantage for anglers.
This is an essential feature, especially when fishing with thin PE line.
