Overview

The functionality and beauty required of a small spinning reel. A crystallization born from Daiwa's craftsmanship. That is EXIST.
Its core technology is "AIRDRIVE DESIGN". The design concept of the next generation spinning reel pursues what anglers want: to operate the lure at will. This AIRDRIVE DESIGN is composed of up to four technologies. Among them, the symbolic one is the Air Drive Rotor. It realizes a light rotation feeling that moves the heart. From there, it is the monocoque body that creates a solid sense of rigidity that you would never imagine. It is the source of stable rotation that is hard to bend. Protected by the sturdy body, the Tough Digigear that realizes infinitely noiseless rotation has been given a special surface treatment to increase the gear hardness to ensure perfection. Daiwa's unique waterproof and durable technology, Magseal, is installed in the pinion and line roller parts, and Magseal ball bearings are installed on both ends of the drive gear to achieve high waterproof performance (SF model only in one place in the pinion part). The drag is equipped with the ATD TYPE-L, which improves initial response while retaining the ATD characteristic of continuing to work smoothly in response to the pull of the fish, allowing you to fight with confidence even when using light line.
In order to make the performance generated by these features not just a tool, but something that connects with anglers, EXIST has also put its heart into its design and services. A pure design that harmonizes with any field, whether shore or offshore. User support to ensure long-term use with peace of mind. All of this is to be a pioneer in the future of lure fishing.

AIRDRIVE DESIGN
Air Drive Design is a next-generation spinning reel design concept that pursues the angler's desire to control the lure as they wish. Air Drive Design is composed of up to four technologies. The prerequisite is the installation of an Air Drive Rotor that produces light winding and high-response rotation, a lightweight and trouble-free Air Drive Bail, a thin-walled Air Drive Spool that has been designed to reduce weight by removing unnecessary material to the limit, and an Air Drive Shaft that supports the main shaft with a high-precision collar and has a non-contact structure with the pinion gear, allowing for light winding with extremely little rotation noise even under high load. The synergistic effect of these and the improvement of the weight balance of the reel achieve a high level of operability.
*LT model is equipped with AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL, AIRDRIVE SPOOL, and AIRDRIVE SHAFT. SF model is equipped with AIRDRIVE ROTOR, AIRDRIVE BAIL, and AIRDRIVE SPOOL. Linear shaft specification.

AIRDRIVE ROTOR
Using our unique theory, we have derived a new shape that looks as if it was cut out of a sphere, and by thoroughly removing unnecessary material from it, we have achieved a significant weight reduction while maintaining rigidity. This has dramatically improved the lightness of the reel, which leads to improved operability and sensitivity.

AIRDRIVE BAIL
The Air Veil has adopted a hollow pipe structure that provides rigidity and light weight, but in order to achieve further weight reduction, the diameter has been made smaller while maintaining the necessary strength. The veil angle is set to the optimum angle to allow the line to transition more smoothly from the veil to the line roller. This has made it even lighter and less troublesome.

AIRDRIVE SPOOL
A thin-walled design that eliminates unnecessary material and achieves weight reduction. The thin-walled design of the spool skirt and the hollowing out of the inside of the spool are the key to weight reduction. The lighter spool improves ease of winding and casting. In addition, the drag sound mechanism with low operating resistance improves response when the drag is activated.

AIRDRIVE SHAFT
The system uses a non-contact structure between the main shaft and pinion, a linear shaft that eliminates friction, and supports both ends of the pinion with bottom brackets, maximizing the power input to generate torque. Furthermore, the main shaft is supported by a high-precision collar, which reduces rotational noise to the maximum.
*LT model only, SF model excluded.

MONOCOQUE BODY
Strong and durable technology, monocoque body. Conventionally, spinning reels generally support both ends of the drive gear with the body and body cover, and then secure them with several screws. In order to further improve precision and rigidity, the monocoque body eliminates the body cover and secures the gear by screwing a high-precision plate directly into the body. This improves the precision of the gear support, and also improves rigidity and airtightness. Furthermore, by utilizing the space previously taken up by the screw, we have succeeded in expanding the size of the drive gear to its maximum. The monocoque body means MONO (one) - COQUE (shell). The completely new shape, which symbolizes the strength of a single shell, breaks the conventional wisdom of reel structure.

MAG SEALED
DAIWA's unique waterproof structure creates a wall of magnetic mag oil in the gap between the body and rotor, blocking out seawater, dust, and other elements.
*LT model: Installed in three places: both ends of the drive gear, the pinion, and the line roller (full mag-shield specification). *SF model: Installed in only one place on the pinion, emphasizing finesse performance.

TOUGH DIGIGEAR
To survive in harsh environments, a reel needs a strong heart. "Tough Digigear" keeps the rotation smooth for longer.

ATD TYPE-L
The ATD operates smoothly and continues to work smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. The ATD TYPE-L has improved initial response. It pursues smooth start and tracking, allowing you to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.

LC-ABS (Long Cast ABS)
While keeping the idea of reducing the contact resistance of ABS II, the contact point has been moved forward to achieve smoother line release. The effect of the ring part moving forward makes it difficult for the line to get on the ring, which has resulted in an approximately 5% increase in distance and trouble-free performance over the conventional ABS II. This is the next generation ABS spool that achieves LC (= LONG CAST).

Stopperless body "Even lighter and more trouble-free"
The body structure has been simplified by removing the stopper. The decision to remove the stopper, which is a route for water and foreign objects to enter, not only reduces weight and improves waterproof performance, but also minimizes the risk of sudden trouble in harsh environments or when dealing with large fish, which are required of the EXIST.

EXIST SF
To an unexplored zone that goes beyond finesse.
Awakening maneuverability.

SF (Super Finesse) concept - A spinning reel design philosophy that allows precise control in millimeters in a range far beyond previous finesse. For this new challenge, we at Daiwa chose the flagship small spinning reel "EXIST". Why?
Daiwa does not expect peace from a flagship. We do not get along with others. We want it to always be a front runner in the fishing scene.
EXIST SF - If I may say so without fear of misunderstanding, it is not an honor student. While inheriting the philosophy of EXIST, there is no common sense there. It is not versatile but a breakthrough. The aim was to achieve super finesse that goes beyond finesse. While maintaining
the basic performance of EXIST such as air drive design, full metal (Mg) monocoque body, and Mag Sealed, it has been tuned to the limit. The target is narrowed down to bass, trout, and light salt using 4lb (fluoro nylon) or 0.6 (PE) line or less, and it is thoroughly compact and lightweight. To achieve this, a certain level of durability and waterproofness has been cut off, but the price is a territory that no one has yet entered. The
"maneuverability" that allows the lure to trace a trajectory according to the image in your mind, far beyond the limits of finesse, will bring you a dense time with the fish. The weight that has been narrowed down to the limit will contribute to casting performance that can be swung without applying excessive force, contributing to distance and accuracy. The compact body that can be wrapped in the palm of your hand allows feathering with a delicate touch, and will promise you an approach as you aim. The short spool sublimates the smooth line sliding of the ATD TYPE-L to a higher dimension.
All of the technology to super finesse. The EXIST SF, which awakens anglers, is released.

Differences between EXIST SF and EXIST LT

20% drag performance
improvement The shortened spool reduces the variation in resistance when releasing the line.
Furthermore, by changing the maximum drag force to 3kg, the adjustment range in the low drag range, which is important in finesse fishing, is expanded, allowing for more optimal drag fine-tuning.

Casting distance/swing speed 7%/12% increase
The combination of the ultra-lightweight tackle EXIST SF2500SS and STEEZ RC61L-SV increases swing speed by about 12% compared to existing tackle.
This improves the long casting performance of lightweight lures. When casting to the same distance, you can cast with less force, which also improves casting accuracy.

Significant weight reduction
By making the body about 20% more compact, a significant weight reduction has been achieved (LT2500S = 160g, SF2500SS = 140g).

Sensitivity improvement by about 16%
The vibration transmission performance has been improved by designing the internal parts specifically for SF, such as reducing the diameter of the main shaft.

*Precautions for using the SF series
1) Do not wind the line with strong tension.
When winding the line, we recommend winding it with the recommended line tension. (Recommended tension: 100g for nylon, fluoro, and ester lines, 200g for PE lines)
Winding the line with excessive tension can lead to deformation of the spool and rotation problems.

2) We recommend setting the drag to 800g or less.
Winding the line under high load can lead to rotation problems.
Please be especially careful when reeling in the lure when it has been snagged or when retrieving a lure that has become covered in seaweed.
Also, please be careful not to overtighten the drag knob as this can lead to damage.

3) It was developed with nylon, fluoro, and ester lines up to about 4lb, or PE lines up to about 0.6, but the strength standard is specialized for SF (super finesse), so please use with care.
