DAIWA 21 Surf Basia 45QD for Size 5

A dedicated casting machine that realizes the casting distance, rotation and durability inherited from the 19 Tournament Surf 45. It is equipped with a large diameter 2° taper Long Cast (LC) spool, a cross wrap that winds the line and prevents the lines from digging into each other, and realizes smooth line release. All items use a gear ratio of "4.1" that pursues power and ease of winding. The exquisite balance of the ZAION body and Tough Digigear realizes smooth winding and rotation durability due to Mag Shield.

MAGSEALED
DAIWA's unique waterproof structure creates a wall of magnetic mag oil in the gap between the body and rotor, blocking out seawater, dust, and other elements.

AIR ROTOR
The unique arch shape distributes the load on the rotor, achieving a significant weight reduction with the same strength. The rotor balance is also improved, resulting in a lighter rotation with good response.

ZAION
DAIWA's unique technology has succeeded in molding a special resin with high density carbon fiber woven into it, which is extremely difficult to process. This is the pinnacle of DAIWA carbon material, combining incredible lightness and strength. Only high-end models are allowed to wear this performance.

TWIST BUSTER II
By tapering the line roller and rolling the line, the line twist caused by the rotor rotation is offset. This significantly reduces the line twist that was said to be the fate of spinning reels.

Equipped with LC spool
Equipped with a Long Cast (LC) spool (made of aluminum) with a 2° spool taper angle (the angle of the spool winding part).
The larger diameter increases the amount of line that can be wound per turn of the handle (7cm more than the 19 Tournament Surf 45 spool). The gentler the taper angle, the less line trouble there is when casting (the line comes out in a lump).

Improved winding feel
The light and smooth winding feeling inherited from the 19 Tournament Surf 45 is realized, and the exquisite balance between the new ZAION body and the Tough Digigear, and the same 85mm handle (made of aluminum) as the 19 Tournament Surf 45, make it possible.
It achieves the highest winding level in the history of the Bassia, and also contributes to improving sensitivity when reeling (a fishing method in which you reel in the line and pull the tackle).

Aluminum machine cut tough digital gear
Casting fishing is a tough environment, with long throws of over 150m, repeated capture of multiple Japanese whiting and retrieval of tackle, and fighting with large rushing fish. The reel is equipped with an aluminum machine-cut tough digital gear that can handle such situations, achieving improved durability and winding power.
