The Micro Module Gear II has been designed with an ideal tooth shape, with a revised design down to the teeth of the drive gear. In addition, a new silent drive design has been adopted to suppress rattling in the mechanism, thoroughly eliminating the slight rattling and clicking sensation when winding. The body and line roller are made with X-Protect, which has improved waterproofing, to maintain Stella's true essence of smoothness and silence.

Micro module gear II evolved with cutting-edge tooth surface design and Shimano's unique manufacturing technology. The design of each and every tooth surface of the gear teeth was reviewed to pursue the ideal tooth shape. We also achieved reduced noise and improved smooth gear feeling.

A quiet unity with thorough attention to detail
The basic design of the entire body and each and every drive-related part were reviewed one by one, thoroughly eliminating minute rattles, gaps, and vibrations between parts down to the smallest detail. The areas subject to improvement are wide-ranging, including the drive gear, worm shaft, worm shaft pin, and worm shaft gear. A new dimension of smooth rotation performance and quiet winding comfort have been achieved.

To an even stronger gear system
HAGANE gear, which has been installed in many Shimano spinning reels so far. HAGANE gear, which has ensured sufficient durability through unique precision cold forging technology, has evolved even further in the NEW STELLA. Strength has been increased through design alone, without changing the size or material of the gear. We have achieved a reel gear strength that is one size larger.

Smoothness and waterproofness, neither of which can be compromised
The NEW STELLA is equipped with non-contact X-Protect.
By combining the water-repellent effect and labyrinth structure, we have achieved waterproof performance that can withstand water pressure without compromising the lightness of rotation. It is installed in the line roller part and the body (roller clutch) part. In particular, the durability of the line roller has been increased by more than five times (compared to our conventional products).

NEW Low-friction Roller Clutch
The NEW STELLA is equipped with a low-friction, compact roller clutch. It reduces resistance and achieves lighter rotation than conventional models.

Metal Rotor
Uses a metal rotor with high rigidity and moderate inertia. Achieves a smooth rotation feeling that is unique to STELLA

DLC Line Roller
A line roller with a special surface treatment (diamond-like carbon) on the surface. It reduces friction and prevents line wear.

Metal Parts
The body and rotor are all metal. In addition, the NEW STELLA uses metal even for the drag knob and handle screw cap.

Coiled wave spring
Not only can it be adjusted at low load, but it can also be fine-tuned near the maximum drag when a high load is applied. It supports anglers' advantageous fights.

Differentiated washers
1000 to 4000 models use felt washers for a smooth start, while C5000 models use cross carbon washers for durability.

Long stroke
STELLA's spool has a longer stroke than other models. It is designed with a focus on long-distance casting, unique to STELLA.

Brushed-up spool diameter
The 1000 model is made smaller to match with the small-diameter butt guide. The 4000 model is made larger to prioritize improved casting distance.

Newly designed bail opening and closing mechanism
Pursues a smooth feeling when opening. The opening and closing angle is wide, and feathering is improved. It also prevents the bail from unexpectedly turning back.

Newly shaped line clip: A new clip shape is used that is easier to remove and has improved holding power. It can be used for a wide range of lines, from 0.2 ester to 40 pound fluorocarbon.
