The Micro Module Gear II has been redesigned down to the teeth of the drive gear to create an ideal tooth shape. In addition, a new silent drive design has been adopted to suppress rattling in the mechanism and thoroughly eliminate the slight rattling and clicking sensation when winding. The body and line roller are made with X-Protect, which has improved waterproofing, to maintain the smooth and silent nature of Stella.

The Micro Module Gear II has evolved with the most advanced tooth surface design and Shimano's unique manufacturing technology. The design of each tooth of the gear has been redesigned to pursue the ideal tooth shape. We have also achieved reduced noise and improved smooth gear feeling.

The basic design of the entire body and each drive-related part have been reviewed one by one to thoroughly eliminate even the smallest rattling, gaps, and shaking between parts. The improvements are made to a wide range of areas, including the drive gear, worm shaft, worm shaft pin, and worm shaft gear. A new dimension of smooth rotation performance and quiet winding comfort have been achieved.

Towards an even stronger gear system.
HAGANE gear, which has been installed in many Shimano spinning reels so far, has been made durable enough through its unique precision cold forging technology, and the NEW STELLA has further evolved it. Strength has been increased through design alone, without changing the size or material of the gear. A reel gear strength that is one size larger has been achieved.

Smoothness and waterproofness, neither of which can be compromised.
The NEW STELLA is equipped with non-contact X-Protect. By combining the water-repellent effect and labyrinth structure, waterproof performance that can withstand water pressure is achieved without compromising the lightness of rotation. It is installed in the line roller section and body (roller clutch) section. In particular, the durability of the line roller has been increased by more than five times.

NEW Low-friction Roller Clutch
The NEW STELLA is equipped with a low-friction, compact roller clutch. It reduces resistance and achieves lighter rotation than the previous model.

Kanaya Rotor
Uses a metal rotor with high rigidity and moderate inertia. It achieves a smooth rotation feeling that is unique to STELLA.

DLC Line Roller
Line roller with special surface treatment (diamond-like carbon) on the surface. It reduces friction and prevents line wear.

Kanaya Parts
The body and rotor are all metal. In addition, the NEW STELLA uses metal for the drag knob and handle screw cap.

Coiled Wave Spring
Fine adjustments are possible not only at low loads but also near maximum drag with high loads. Supports anglers' advantageous fights.

Differentiating washers
From 1000 to 4000, the C5000 model uses a felt washer with a smooth start, while the C5000 model uses a cross carbon washer with an emphasis on durability.

Long stroke
The STELLA spool has a longer stroke than other models. It is designed to give STELLA the long casting distance it is known for.

Improved spool diameter
The 1000 model is smaller to match the small diameter butt guide. The 4000 model is larger to prioritize improving casting distance.

Newly designed bail opening and closing mechanism
We pursue a smooth feeling when opening. The opening and closing angle is wide, and feathering is improved. It also prevents the bail from turning back unexpectedly.

Newly designed line clip
We use a new clip shape that is easy to remove and has improved holding power. It can be used with a wide range of lines, from ester 0.2 to fluorocarbon 40 pounds.
