Shimano Sephia SS is an intermediate series between two close relatives - Sephia BB, which is heavier, cheaper and more modestly equipped, and Sephia C14+, which is lighter, more expensive and has a richer design. The SS has a Hagane Gear, the main gear, the wheel of which is made by cold pressure treatment "cold forging" and has small teeth. The reel also uses the X-SHIP system, Magnumlite rotor, Rigid Support Drag mechanism with a ball bearing in the spool unit and an SR-type line guide.
