The maximum feature of the Vertical Limit is its outstanding hooking ability and holding power. It balances two opposing elements: the ‘initial hooking performance,’ where the hook tip tries to penetrate as soon as it touches the fish’s body, and the ‘penetration power,’ which ensures that the hook stays firmly in place even when the fish tries to turn. With a precisely calculated hook tip angle and straight point setting, we pursued a balance between initial hooking ability and penetration power. We selected materials with strength suitable for various fighting styles, from Amberjack to Yellowtail and large grouper, based on the line diameter. The simple round bend shape excels in holding performance by capturing a wide range of fish load, while to reduce fish tearing, we left a round shaft section at the bend heel (deepest part of the bend) and enhanced the shape retention of the hook body by applying partial flat processing.
