The aim of the TIERRA LJ IC was to provide anglers with a jigging reel that has overwhelming drag and winding performance.
The maximum drag force is 10kg. It has the strongest drag in its class. This time, we worked on not only making the drag stronger, but also making it operate more smoothly. This was made possible by the ATD, synchro level wind, and the "electronic drag sound" that is the first to be installed in a manual winding IC reel. The "electronic drag sound" is a function that detects the spool rotation and conveys the operation of the drag with an "electronic sound".
By adopting this function, we have eliminated the physical resistance of the drag pull click (mechanical structure) and achieved a smoother, high-performance drag that exceeds the conventional structure. The powerful drag of MAX 10kg continues to operate smoothly.
Furthermore, the basic performance has been refined with "HYPERDRIVE DESIGN", following the design of the SALTIGA IC 300.
It has high winding performance that allows you to tackle large bluefish without worrying about using 300g class jigs in areas with strong currents.

HYPERDRIVE DESIGN
The next-generation design concept for bait (double-axis) reels, which significantly improves the standard of all basic performance with the aim of maintaining high initial performance for a long time. The Hyper Drive Design is composed of up to four technologies. Hyper Double Support, which requires the Hyper Drive Digigear to maintain smooth rotation for a long time and assists the gear drive to provide strong and light winding. Hyper Armed Housing, which strongly supports the internal structure and is less likely to bend or distort. Hyper Tough Clutch with an insulating structure that continues to operate even in harsh locations and drastically reduces adhesion due to salt. The synergistic effect of these technologies continues to provide stable performance in any field.

HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR
A newly designed gear system that pursues sustained strong and smooth rotation. This is DAIWA's unique technology that achieves an increased meshing rate without reducing the module (size) of the gear teeth, which directly affects durability, allowing the initial smoothness to be maintained for a long time.

HYPER DOUBLE SUPPORT
A drive support system that achieves sustained smoothness and strong, light winding. Both ends of the pinion gear are supported with two ball bearings with high precision, allowing for strong, light winding even under load without attenuating the input from the handle.

HYPER ARMED HOUSING (FULL AL)
A housing system that firmly supports the internal structure with high rigidity and precision, producing a precise winding feel and power. The frame, which is the key, must be made of metal, and when combined with the side plate and set plate, it allows the basic performance to continue to be demonstrated for an even longer period of time.
This series uses aluminum alloy for the frame, side plate (handle side), and set plate. It has achieved high winding performance that is comparable to the 21SALTIGA IC 300.

HYPER TOUGH CLUTCH
Not only does this clutch system have crisp on/off performance that continues to slide thousands or tens of thousands of times, but it also has extremely few problems even in saltwater with high salinity. This cutting-edge insulation structure has already reduced the number of repairs due to sticking in harsh saltwater environments by 99% compared to our previous model.

ATD
The ATD operates smoothly and continues to work smoothly in response to the pull of the fish. It pursues smooth start and tracking, allowing you to concentrate on the fight without worrying about the drag setting.

SYNCHRO LEVEL WIND
A mechanism that links the left and right reciprocating motion of the level winder according to the spool rotation when the rig is being dropped and when it is being reeled in. Not only does it keep the line wound in a neat condition, but its movement during the drop ensures a smooth rig drop.

"Electronic drag sound" is a function that detects spool rotation and communicates drag operation with an "electronic sound."
The conventional drag pull click (mechanical structure) plays an important role in communicating drag operation to the angler. However, the ratchet structure and sound-emitting pin structure inside the drive gear that make the sound generate physical resistance when the drag is pulled out. By removing this mechanical structure and installing "electronic drag sound," it is now possible to achieve both smooth drag performance and a drag sound that is easier to hear.
The graph below compares the "resistance" when pulling out the drag between the TIERRA LJ IC and a reel equipped with a drag pull click with a conventional mechanism. The TIERRA LJ IC has significantly reduced this "resistance," achieving a smoother, high-performance drag. The powerful drag of MAX 10kg continues to operate smoothly, reducing missed catches and favoring interactions with large fish.
