ZAION V is used for the body, body cover, and rotor material for the first time in a casting reel, achieving weight reduction while maintaining strength.

LC spool & cross wrap
The first LC (long cast) spool with a 35mm stroke is installed. In addition, it is equipped with a cross wrap that winds the line in a twill and prevents the lines from digging into each other, realizing light line release with fewer troubles when casting.

Lightweight handle arm
Uses a lightweight 85mm aluminum machine cut handle arm. High-rigidity machine cut handle that provides a stable winding feeling.

Handle knob can be replaced
Compatible with S size knob.

Compatible with 35mm spools
Spools from past Daiwa 35mm stroke reels can be installed. Spools without drag and QD are compatible.

ZAION V
Make many reels lighter and stronger. The carbon hybrid developed for this purpose is the ZAION V {"V" stands for versatile). By tightly controlling the hybrid carbon, we have achieved a light weight that surpasses metal, high rigidity at a high level, and versatility that can be mounted on many reels. It inherits the essence of Zion, which can be said to be the maximum spec of carbon hybrids.

LC-ABS
While retaining the idea of reducing resistance of ABSII, we have achieved smoother line release by moving the contact point forward. The effect of the ring part moving forward makes it difficult for the line to ride on the ring, and has improved the casting distance and trouble-free performance by about 5% more than the conventional ABSII. It is the next generation ABS spool that realizes LC (LONG CAST).

MAGSEALED
A waterproof structure that shuts out the intrusion of seawater and dust by creating a magnetic oil wall in the gap between the body and rotor. Since the body and rotor are non-contact, the light and smooth rotation remains the same, and the initial rotation performance is maintained for a long time. Most of the causes of abnormal rotation noise are salt jamming and the intrusion of foreign objects. Of course, there are cases where the reel is dropped into water, but excluding such cases, the rate of rotation noise of the Mag Sealed reel is significantly reduced. Moreover, the longer the time passes after the Mag Sealed installation, the greater the difference in the data becomes. This proves that the longer it is used, the more effective it becomes, which means that the Mag Sealed's dustproof and waterproof capabilities are at a very high level.

Uses ZAION V
This is the first time that ZAION V has been used in a casting reel. While maintaining its strength, it is lighter than conventional reels of the same class. 15 Grand Surf 06PE 85g 17 Wind Surf 100g lighter. QD Power Surf QD 75g lighter.

LC (Long Cast) Spool & Cross Wrap
The LC spool, which is a standard for 45mm reels, is used with a 35mm stroke. The taper color is the same as the popular Surf Pacia 452. Furthermore, the cross wrap that wraps the line prevents the lines from digging into each other, reduces backlash problems, and enables light line release for comfortable casting.

Handle Arm
The aluminum machine cut handle arm that was used in the top model up to the 16 Tournament Surf 45 is used, contributing to the weight reduction of the entire reel. While maintaining sufficient strength, the handle arm is 17g lighter than the 15 Grand Surf 06PE and 23g lighter than the Power Surf QD.

Cast Lock Manual Return
The rotor is fixed when the bail is raised, and a cast lock is installed to prevent unexpected bail flipping during casting. The bail is returned manually after casting.

06PE
Equipped with a spool dedicated to PE line without drag for long-distance casting. Recommended for fishing for Japanese whiting from the surf breakwater.
