This fast-taper headwater rod is designed for chouchin rigs, delivering outstanding versatility and power across a wide range of environments—from targeting large iwana (char) in headwaters to yamame, amago, and rainbow trout in mountain streams. The series is offered in two distinct power levels, each equipped with a tip optimized for its intended targets.
Medium Power (Kōchō): Designed primarily for amago, yamame, and larger iwana around the shaku (30 cm) class. Features a Mega Top tip that excels in bite absorption and sensitivity, allowing confident use of fine lines.
Extra-Heavy Power (Chōkō): Built to handle large iwana and rainbow trout over 40 cm. Supports thicker lines and heavier weights, and uses a carbon tubular tip that ensures solid hook penetration even into hard jaws.
To enhance power and durability, the rod incorporates advanced DAIWA technologies, including X45, V-Joint, and HVF Nanoplus. Functional features include Mega Top (Medium Power only), anti-tangle tip, anti-seizing ring, and joint drop / sticking prevention structure.
